I am suggesting that there be some 'life like AI' in the cockpit!
Instead if the computer voiced AI in a double cockpit [Adder, Cobra, exc, exc...] You record some diehard fan voices and put them in the seat next to you!
I have all the details listed below! But first here are some PRO's CON's [maybe] I thought of my self!
PRO's
IMMERSION!
Lonely trips are now more spontaneous and lively!
Jumping into battles 'MAY' create LOADS OF FEEDBACK!
MORE THINGS TO SPEND YOUR UNUSED IN-GAME CREDITS ON!
Possible Chatty Cathy mode!
CON's
YOU MISS THE NOT SO CHATTY CATHY AI
Neutral grounds
Crew members can quit if they feel it is not there style of game-play [being a pirate, cargo huller, adventurer, exc. exc...]
NEW use for slaves! [can free slaves and ask them to work for you or keep them as such and make them]
Voice recondition! [if you have a mic]
DETAILS
AI is voiced over with the same AI pretext with added commentary for long hulls through out deep space combat and other things to implement immersion.
They will take a Daily or triply pay depending on the hours of the trip or much more.
They will have two life's making them sometimes not available for random trips, but to counteract this the player can use slaves, or pay higher wages to make crew more ready
The player will be able to write out long term contracts stating what the AI humanoid is able to do, But the AI can generate random deal breakers.
Example you hire someone that just wants to see new surroundings but wants to avoid conflict. If you fly to a conflict area and join in combat they will quit the next time you visit a station for air, and the player will be forced to use the AI or hire a new co pilot!
Special quest to obtain 'special' AI would be nice to
Not only will the AI comment of the current task but may un-vale hidden details about the places you visit.
Remember Computers are perfect so these AI can not be, so sometimes making a mistake will happen, this also leads to the possibility of different classed AI [smartness, how many mistakes they will make exc] in turn making for a more immersive experience.
If your ship blows you have a possibility of losing an AI you really liked, in turn motivating you to want to avoid chaos and freelancing fights.
FOOD! you will need to buy food to keep your crew alive! or you can have freelanced AI bring there own food.
AI with bounties! Your crew member may have a bounty and you can trick them into going with you! but don't think that they will not fight back once they notice where they are going!
or you can simply help them pay off there bounty, maybe even leading into a long term contract.
Friending an AI could also mean they are more loyal to you!
Speaking of being loyal AI with certain Quest may sell you out to pirates so watch your back.
