AI: Still botched up by length of Anaconda

I've noticed the "writhing" Anacondas generally don't have any turrets so while you're above them they can't hit you with gimballed or fixed weapons.

Oh. I see big ships refuse to put up a fight all the time. I was theorizing that it might have to do with their loadout. Sorry I offended you.

I'm not talking about what Anacondas do. I'm talking about what NPC ships up to the Vulture do when I'm flying MY Anaconda. Whatever you're talking about has nothing to do with this thread.

It seems applicable to me. The big ship AI is as confused as the little ship AI, the difference is that if they have turrets they shoot you with those, but they don't really maneuver or anything, they just roll around like they are trying to get away or turn and fight or get away...if I plunk myself in front of a viper or anaconda or vulture or whatever it will shoot me, but if I get above or below it, it seems to be confused and can't decide what to do.

I agree, vipers with turrets will put out damage, but just from the turrets, they aren't dogfighting or maneuvering any more than an Anaconda is and an Anaconda isn't fighting anymore than they are.
