Aim point wrong in VIVE?

When i first got ED, i had a DK2, and I loved how i could look at something and target it. Now, I have a Vive, and when I play ED on the vive, the "aim point" seems to be way too high. Its not a hit f12 to reset orientation issue, its that the center of the vision cone is no longer where the active area for deciding what i am looking at. This means if i look left and right to see my info screens, i have to keep my head tilted down, I cant look directly at things anymore. Do any other vive users experience this, or have a fix for it?

It does sound like you need to re-calibrate the sensors/room scaling.

I had that with rift when I set it up whilst being in standing position. I had to re do it whilst sitting down.

Worth trying.

I have this too with the dk2 and cv1, I just move my head up and down when trying to target something.

I don't see why recalibrating would work, the up/down angle is determined by gravity and recalibrating shouldn't change it. Could try and change the position and tilt of the headset on your head.

The gaze target was reduced at some point, iirc because the role panel, in particular, would be too prone to pop up and get in the way.

Unfortunately, imho, they went a little too far in the opposite direction, and suddenly reading a comms panel page became an excersise in keeping your head rock still, to prevent the panel from closing, when lowering your gaze to read the bottom half of the text. :p

I've given up, personally, and open and close the panels manually instead.

I have the same issue and think its because the HMD tilts back a little because of the shape of my face.

A fix that worked but was annoying enough for me to just "get over it" was putting some additional padding on the bit that goes above my eyes, ive got a VR cover (washable cloth that goes over the foam) into which i put a bit of extra stuffing.

It needed adjusting every time i put it on but the "gaze point" came down to where i expected it to be.

Ark: Nope, that resets where your head is in yaw rotation, not which angle it leans at.
