Aimless into the void

Aimless into the void, a journey to the far edge of the galaxy and back is my very first attempt at the exploration. Check out my video. I hope you like it and follow my progress.

Wish me luck :).

Good luck Commander.
You really should stick 2 auto field maintenance units in there. Go for the D thrusters and the same with your life support. They are a bit lighter.
Have a good trip!

I'll second the suggestions on outfitting and would go even further. You don't need that much power, nor do you need much in the way of boosting or shields so you can use a lower class for power plant, power distributor and shields. This will decrease the weight and increase your range by a few ly which is a must for exploration.

For such a long journey, auto-maintenance units could be nice. Heat sink launchers are also recommended by some. I've never had a need for them but ... you never know :)

I don't remember my exact loadout but you can easily keep shields and still reach around 35Ly jump range. There are a lot of suggestions on the exploration forums if you want to look it up.

Best of luck in your endeavour !

Thank you very much for taking the time to write your feedback. Indeed I have seen quite a few exploration articles. But until you made that post I didn't realize one very important thing about fitting exploration ships ( which was also absent from the articles I read ). D rating modules are the best in terms of mass. I have change my lauout and from ~27LY I am now at 34.09LY. I have also placed 3 ARMU just in case.

Also thank you all for the support. I am already out in the void and I will make a video as soon as a I reach the heart and soul nebulas and take a few nice screenshots :).
