Air is getting thin for Star Citizen

I wouldn't want ALL the things from all the games, but if you took the best part of each game and made a new one with each of these, I'd never leave my computer!
  • Elite's Stellar Forge and galaxy map (and the better parts of the flight model)
  • Space Engineers "space / EVA legs", ship interiors, zero-G, and damage & repair model
  • X4's economy and NPC system (and the better parts of the flight model)
  • No Man's Sky proc gen (adjusted for ED's SF) and "sense of wonder" exploration
  • Flight Simulator's amazing graphics and weather system
  • Every game's (except ED) ability to be modded ;)
Very tall order. X4 economy and stellar forge need some limit to make it feasible. I'd do away with the 399.9 billion unused stars probably. Millions of stars still would be more than enough.

Yeah; X4 economy works well and can afford to get to that level of detail because it is a single player game and a relatively limited environment. A multiplayer set up requiring player balance and much tighter exploit control in a “map” that is in the order of several tens of thousands of systems (bubble) and an order of magnitude or two larger in terms of stations and settlements is a whole different beast. The closest you can get is EVE but for that effort over multiple years to develop, other elements in Old Duck list had to be sacrificed.

I think a SP games would work best for what I want of a spacesim. MP makes too many concessions.

I can see why they make these games multiplayer (and I'm not sure how many of us would still be here if there wasn't a multiplayer community), but nearly everything that I'd like from a space game becomes a million times easier to program if you're not having to think about other players.
