Al Sharab - One of the first Dark Rides made in Planet Coaster

(Someone suggested that I should share this on the forums as well, so here you go)

Al Sharab was build in a single day. I tried my best to tell a story but in the end the story might not be as clear as I had imagined (Check out the video description for this "story").

I hope you'll like Al Sharab, if you're interested to see it with your own eyes please ask, I wouldn't mind sharing the save file!

Awesome video!! this really shows the potential of what we can do with all the scenery and stuff once we have real darkrides [big grin]

Also, this video demonstrates once more we really need costum music!! No in-game theme can ever come close to the piece of music you chose to give the ride the perfect "vibe".
Especially for a first try, this is really good work!

Wow, awesome work. And I think exactly the same thing as Vampiro, we need custom music and this is the ultimate example. The piece of music you choose is awesome and really add to the ride.

Thanks everyone! Adding the music was so hard! It was impossible to find a piece of music that would fit, so I actually had to cut and paste a lot, for example, before the ride starts, when the train is in the station, the music that can be heard is actually looping about 6 times before the actual song starts. Besides that right wjen the train enters the outdoor helix I skipped a whole part of the song because otherwise it would've been too long.

But I'm probably making it way harder for myself then it has to be, but hey, it was fun to make!

I don't have a lot of free time but I really do hope to make another darkride in the futurea

Looks really good. Lots of potential.
I notice that your vid is set at night. When the game is in daytime, does the inside still appear to be "dark"? That might sound like a strange question, but I've not seen many people showing the lighting effects of a completely indoor environment in night and day.
For example, if you create four solid walls with a roof (no windows or light source) is it dark inside?

Thanks!

Unfortunately the building doesn't really affect the inside quite as much. Eventhough a building will make it look darker it actually looks very different at day. Apart from the natural lightning the lights only turn on at night. So unfortunately it isn't quite as good at day.

That was great! I love dark rides and this was fun to watch and I hope down the line we get all the tools and tech needed to create true dark rides.

Custom music is a must have, I'd also love to see trigger sections that fire animatronics / doors etc. and timed brakes so the train can be stopped while the scene plays out.

Thanks everyone!

For the folks that want more: I've added a bit more on the outside (The rollercoaster part). The outdoor part looks a lot better now and I think the it makes the story way clearer.

Anyways, I'm currently rendering a new video! The video will be an onride of Al Sharab :-D

Edit:
I also made this simple little logo:

Thanks man!

I just want to take a quick second to thank everyone for all the views, up votes and likes.
I got 1050 views on my original video of my dark ride Al Sharab and another 440 on my latest onride video!

I don't have a lot of spare time, but I'll make sure to make more when I do!

Thanks!

I'm currently working on my next dark ride, I've decided to record the process of making it so if I finish it I'll probably start a little series on how to build / how I build a Dark Ride with some explanations on the design process and of course timelapse footage of the actual construction.
