Thanks I really thought cougars were native to AlaskaAs someone who works in Alaska I’d be thrilled to have Alaskan animals. Cougars are mostly unheard of in Alaska, lynx are really the only feline native. The amphibians are pretty unique and have some cool adaptations.
The populations of elk, musk oxen and wood bison population have made some serious rebounds thanks to conservation efforts and transplanting.
Moose and the Sitka Blacktailed deer are some of the only deer members native to Alaska as the elk are actually a transplanted species
The bald eagle population is larger then that of the lower 48 and there is a rough estimate of a bald eagle nest every coastal mile. Once we get aviaries I say add the bald eagle.
I’d personally pick Coastal mountain goats and steller sea lions if you’d like to represent missing true Alaskan animals
