ALD bounty hunting bonuses

The bounty hunting % bonus gets applied twice, once when you get the bounty put into your transactions tab, (different from the displayed bounty amount) and once when you cash out the bounty. Only your highest % bonus is applied.

Everyone says ALD bounty hunting 20% passive bonus "stacks" with the rank 2 bonus but all my observations indicate otherwise.

Rank 2 without 1/2/3 place = 20% twice = 144%
ALD without rank = 20% twice = 144%
3rd place rank 2 = 30% twice = 169%
2nd place rank 2 = 40% twice = 196%
2nd place rank 1 = 50% twice = 225%
Rank 5 = 100% twice = 400%.

This is for certain how Hudson rank 2 and rank 5, and ALD rank 2 works. Have not tested it for ALD rank 5 but I assume it would be the same.
Seems like the vast majority of the forums is terribly confused about how the powerplay bounty hunting bonus mechanic works, and I'm a bit tired of reading the same posts with the same incorrect information.

TL;DR: Your highest % bonus is applied twice, once when you get the bounty, once when you cash out. Bonuses do not stack. See numbers above. All this talk of "stacking bounties" and "certain bonuses apply at certain times" is complete nonsense.

Thanks for clarify the matter! i have been ALD rank 5 for weeks and still hadnt been able to get the idea of how these bonuses apply!

I never noticed this bonus, do you get your bonus when submitting your bounties or when you scan an wanted ship? I'm confused. How do know when I'm getting the extra bonus and how much difference from regular bounties.

You have to be rank 2 or rank 5 with Hudson or ALD and you have to be in RES in one of their control/exploit system.

The bonus gets applied when you kill an NPC in that system. You can check how much NPCs are wanted for in your contacts tab, before and after you scan them. The amount of bond you receive in your transaction tab will be increased by your highest PP % bonus. THen when you cash out your bonds in the control/exploit system, the amount the station pays you for your bonds is increased by that % bonus as well, so the % bonus is applied twice multiplicitively.

I.e. I am rank 2 with ALD/Hudson, and he/she is in 2nd place. 2nd place = 40% bonus. I scan an NPC and see they are wanted for 150k. I kill them and I get a 210k (150*1.4) bounty voucher in my transaction tab. Then I go to the station and cash out the bounty. The station pays me 294k (210*1.4) for my bounty. Total reward is 196% of 150k.

Its 20% for rank 2, increasing to 30/40/50 at 3rd/2nd/1st place, and then 100% for rank 5. You add that percentage to 100% and then square that to get your total bonus. If you aren't good with numbers I included the values in original post.

The game never tells you how much extra money you make, but it is fairly easy to calculate. The game will display the original bounty amount in the right hand corner when they say, "you have eliminted criminal NPC for X amount of CR", then you just multiply that X CR amount by what your total bonus is. Ex. I'm rank 2 with Hudson in second place, I get a 100k bounty, I know I'm getting 196k from that if I cash all of it out in system.

Sometimes you may get empire/alliance/fed bonds that you can't turn in, so then you will miss out on a % multiplier for those vouchers unless you find a control system that will accept them. That effect is pretty small though.

Thank you that explains a lot. I currently rank 2 with ALD, I going to make some money tonight.
