Commander ShodFir. I really appreciate all the good work your doing. You're probably going to hate me for this, but I've got to say it. I'm glad you're not my manager at work. Here's the reason why:

Urgent instructions to carry out important activities need to be clear, concise and direct. The above instruction tells me in detail everything I shouldn't do, but only indirectly what I should do. I follow the first link and get a repeat of what not to do. At that point I still can't see where I'm supposed to go undermining. The second link gives the required info. For an urgent instruction would it not be better to say, "Stop what you're doing. Please go to these systems and do urgent undermining. In order of priority, System X, System Y, System Z (or provide a direct link to the undermining list)." After I read the instruction several times, it all makes sense, and everything is there, but I didn't get it until I took the time to figure it all out.

Just changing round your two paragraphs so that the second would be read first would see as a good improvement, especially if you added the words "click the second link below for details".

I promise not to criticise your work any more because I only wanted to raise this point, can we still be friends? The reason I raise this is because I believe that it's all very confusing for noobs, and me.

It reminds me a bit of those idiots tests where there's 10 questions. At the top, it says "read all the questions before starting". The last question is an instruction: "please do not answer questions 1 to 9. You must leave the page blank otherwise you will fail the test". The result is that hardly anybody passes the test even though all the correct easy instructions are there. Of course if it said at the top of the page, "Very important, please leave the page blank or else you'll fail the test. Ignore all the questions below", the pass rate would be closer to 100%

Again, thanks for your input but I'm kinda finding it hard to see where the issue is...

It says, "We must complete all our undermining objectives" ---> Then it says to do, "go to the undermining section of the Strategy Sticky (where the targets are listed)" ----> It also has the to do instruction "New targets will be added to the list as soon as we know a target has been completed so hand in your merits as often as possible". There's no mention of "not to do" in any of the posts or links.

I only added the static cut and paste image of the reddit ALERT post (now removed) because you guys wanted moar content here. It was identical to the reddit post at the first link and the other links were the links in the post because the cut and paste image of the post isn't live.

^ That is exactly what it does say. Note for note...

"It is VITALLY IMPORTANT that we meet ALL our undermining objectives on ALD this cycle" [ie: STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING]

"Therefore I implore all Hudson pledged CMDRs to direct their immediate attention to the Undermining section of the Strategy sticky (<--- linked). Please hit the targets listed with as many of your comrades as is possible. New targets will be added to the list as soon as we know a target has been completed so hand in your merits as often as possible. I cannot stress enough how important it is that this first priority is achieved" [ie: CLICK ON THE STRATEGY STICKY LINK AND GO TO THE UNDERMINING SECTION AND START UNDERMINING THE TARGETS LISTED THERE, HAND YOUR MERITS IN ASAP]

What you see at in the Undermining Section of the Strategy Sticky (which is linked in the reddit OP) is a list of targets... [ie: UNDERMINE X, Y, Z]

You can't see the issue because you wrote and understood what you meant. As I said, everything is there, and now that I've taken the time to comprehend it all, I could argue against myself about what I wrote. For people that follow this every week, there's no problem, but for the guy that has just joined PP with ZH, it might just as well be written in Chinese. That doesn't mean that it can't be understood. even if it were in Chinese, one could still use Google to translate it. I was a manager for 20 years in industry. One lesson I learnt was that if you want people to do what you want, you have to give clear concise instructions. First tell people what they have to do and then tell them why.

I'll just repost what Shod wrote to a very similar question in another thread, couldn't sum up it any better myself:

The content on those stickys change hour by hour as situations evolve. Pasting static versions on FF has proved in the past to be problematic.

Right now there are up to eight people with the keys to change/update the sticky on the subreddit to cover different timezones as situations evolve.

To repost information in a visually appealing way from reddit to frontier forums requires reformatting from the markdown variant that reddit uses to the uBB variant that Frontier Forums uses. Not all our staff members have this ability. Again, pasting static images does not work in the dynamic environment that is a powerplay cycle as has been discovered in the past.

The people keeping the stickies updated should have at least some free time left to actually play ED I'd say

I'm not sure why you can't view the reddit actually, you don't need an account to just read the posts there. Is reddit blocked in your browser for some reason?

Humour me... do you still see Hip 15587 on the Strategy sticky right now?

Undermine until done (status available in the power summary of owner faction).

Because we sometimes know a target has been done because we have wings on teamspeak or xboxlive that have enough merits on it we will mark it as done long before it ever hits the powerplay tab. We will mark it done to save other people going out there and/or wasting merits on a target that is already done.
