Powerplay Faction: Aisling Duval ALERT: STOP PREPPING YAQUE

This says it all, but figured a cross post to this forum might educate a few CMDRs who don't know any better but STOP PREPPING YAQUE. It is always the highest prepped system and when we do decide we don't want to consolidate we are going to have a helluva time outprepping the folks that non-stop prep YAQUE - a horrible loss making system.

As this knowledgable CMDR in the link below says, if you are looking for easy Aisling merits - instead run Fortify materials from Cubeo to Lamba-1 Tucanae.

Whoever they are, they're persistent.

Is this really a problem?
People can do whatever they want, no?

It's a problem the moment a good system becomes available to Aisling, because the organized players then have to push an insane amount of merits into that one to overtake Yaque in addition to the amount of forts they already have to push to keep her out of turmoil.

Wow! That escalated quickly!

On the contrary, we've been asking people nicely for months - to little effect, if you've seen the numbers that continue to be put in each week.

We've posted on the official forum. We've put articles on the Reddit. We've discussed it on the Slack and listed it on the Trello. We've camped out in the station and messaged people who come in directly.

We've tried every conceivable way of communicating with these people but the reality is they are just not being reached.

Some of the commanders have decided to take more direct action. It's sad but it's difficult to see what else can be done.

It may shift people being attacked into Solo, but frankly there is no difference between them delivering unwanted materials in Solo and delivering unwanted materials in Open, so that's not so much of a problem.

I've been pledged to Aisling for a few months and I'm relatively new to pp. As many have noticed , Aisling has some of the highest 5C preparation of all the powers over the last year.

I sometimes wonder why is that. Who and what is the motivation for such a large concerted effort. That's a lot of credits for fasttrack prep. Fasttrack 5C fleet of cutters or not, is it some group(s) or power discord(s) that tells all their new members to prep yaque on their way to prismatics before ditching their pledge?

A hamfisted idea of stopping 5C prepping. Along with the idea of reducing merit decay, make it so preparations are only available in open enforced by losing all preparation cargo when logging into solo. So it would put a stop to 5C efforts of prepping bad systems by those doing so while hiding in solo while making it easier to maintain rank with longer dedication to a power.

It has been suggested in the past. Sadly Frontier has made it quite clear in response that they do not wish the game to function any differently in Solo than in Open, so that change will not happen.

My preferred tactic would be for the game not to reward merits for preparing loss-making systems. It wouldn't stop fifth columnists but at least it would be more of a loss making activity, and at least the random grinders would get the hint pretty quickly.

I see, oh well. Not rewarding merits for prepping loss-making systems could help dissuade unaware preppers but could be a problem for those who individually prep for merits that are prepping systems that are not on their discord's do-not-prep list, are low on the prep list at tick time, or lesser loss sytems that are acceptable for a power's expansion.

The mystery of who or what groups(s) is behind all those credits and cargo time spent in solo for prepping Yaque like mad continues..
