Making the game hard is one thing but giving you the worst car (Alfa Romeo) and expecting you to be the 7th constructor on the grid is just ridiculous.

Here is what I experienced after 4 races:
1. No time: 4 races. Board Confidence becomes disappointed
2. Worst car: Still worst car after 4 full upgrades (you start with car 19-20 and even rushing 3-4 updates, you are still 19-20 if you are lucky 17-18)
3. No money: Budget cut due to low performance (hard to get extra sponsors you barely make it 15th)
4. High expectation: Expect 7th while you have 11-12 or 13-14 even 15-16, but the very last getting point is extremely hard.

Practically playing Alfa Romeo is like playing the game in Nightmare-mode
(actually I do really like the challenge BUT you need to fix the expectation 7 or above is impossible unless you cheat somehow)

It's a difficulty setting. The lower rating your team has at the start of the game the more difficult the game will be.

With Alfa Romeo you probably will need to focus on weather and safety cars to get your cars to the front.

Honestly speaking is obvious that AF is the most challenging mode the game has. I compared a William car, and AF is so much worse in most of the stats. A normal upgrade gives you .2-.3 at best, AF stat are -0.7/.8 or more worse than the second-worst team! It means 2-3 upgrades behind at least in every single stat except engine just to get better than team 9th! It's really car 19/20 in 75-80% of the stats by a lot!

I love the challenge, and I will only play AF. I am happy that it is the most challenging team, and I need to use a lot of strategy and use the maximum potential of each option given to me, BUT getting fired is pointless. It's really hard, let us work, give us time! I think I am okay with how hard it is; just don't give me a silly goal that is honestly unreal. I need to work for the team from the ground; I need time.

In my first play, I did everything already quite to the extreme, meticulously focusing on all aspects, and I was able to get 2 points. In the first ten races, I used all my engines and gearbox. I had to get the most out of practice time (30+lap per session) and ended up I didn't have money for a new engine. I think I rushed too much and should have taken it slower. I will restart, and I am happy it forces me to. My only fear is getting fired because an unrealistic goal would me off since if you do the race 2X, it takes a long time.

Not only the car even the pitstop is the worst; the only team that didn't even get 1 point in pit stop starting time is 2.75, and I think starting time of the second worst is like 2.67-68 huge difference I was able to lower it to 2.5 but so all other improved too and still didn't get even 1 point in pitstop

Just bribe the board. Spend all your money on upgrading the board room

will do with cakes and alcohol because there is no money we have the lowest budget as well

eheh example first race, Alfa Romeo, we start 19/20th at high-speed (along with everything else practically).
I research Underfloor which is the best for high speed I move only the slider of high speed all to the right (keep the rest in the middle). I put all my hours wind tunnel and CDF all in that piece I rush it with 6 eng to have it ready for race 2

I get a decent piece with a nice bump in high speed (I know nobody can have a new piece already! I must have gained something) i think it was +0.07 on high speed (not top speed)
I rush 1 and emergency another part so both cars get it for the second race (probably the only one with a new piece in race 2)

I put it on STILL 19th behind everybody else (Williams still 17) even with 1 specific upgrade only for one specific field using all my hours and the funny thing is we are 19th in 8/12 probably more or less with the same gap

And I am supposed to be 7th or higher in the constructor (and Williams 8th ahahah)

The expectations are all messed up.
They either need to get rid of it completely or fix it.
Alfa Romeo will never finish the first season 7th, even 8th is barely possible unless you're very lucky, the way I see Guanyu drives in career I say it's impossible.
Alfa Romeo's car performance are completely wrong to the one in real life.
And I wanted to play AR... I guess I should have refunded at this point.

After ristarting 3 time I was able to get my car in 7th construction half way year one with a lot of luck and a perfect schedule of upgrades but mostly very much Luck and I am not sure I could replicate it (only Bottas point obviously)

Two things I notice in practice

one I use pourchaire 75 and is consistently better than guanyu 80 I would have fired guanyu day one but breaking contract is too much for Alfa Romeo at begin we need every coin

Two engine wear on our car is crazy how do you expect a team with no money to handle it?

You need a lot of luck just like in real life. Looks like other teams will be interested in your managements skills once that patch arrives

I am not sure a game should rely so heavily on luck, even if I admit Alfa Romeo is probably the worst, so the most reliant on luck.
It would be nice to know that you time everything correctly and maximize the use of your resources; you have at least a 75% chance of success with 25% possible bad luck.
Now it feels like if you time it perfectly to the last detail, you have a 20% chance of success and an 80% chance of failing unless you get lucky.

It is not precisely fair as if you like Alfa Romeo; you are forced on this road (not like you can choose difficulty level); my only advice is to make "board request" a bonus rather than firing and ending the game. Or a check box on the setup where "board request" can be on/off (on you can get fired - off you only get a bonus if you accomplish their request)

That would easily fix most of the complaints.

I finished my season I arrived 8th board wasn’t happy about that but was happy with me so I didn’t get sack.

I couldn’t win Maclaren and haas ha car too much better but a decent 8place and a few points I think I got a pic of my final score plus I made sure to upgrade board room when I had money to boost their confidence I finished with high confidence and not met goal but I survived

Ferrari mclaren red bull aston Martin and alpine are definitely first 5
Haas and maclaren are 6-7

The real battle are the last 3 spot Williams Alfa Romeo and alpha tauri that is the interesting part 8-9-10

I was able to come on top of those other 2 and I think I did a very good job overall
