I bet the Unknown artefacts, (the ones that apparently do system damage over time) that are being transported by Ai ships are casuing them to crash on planets. Like for example, Anacondas. Then once crashed on a suitable planet, the alien artefacts grow into barnacles. Anyone else have any other theorys to the mysterious things?
