Corrosion still last 1-2mn after you shot and is only effective against hull.
It is not recognised as a heat signature and therefore cannot be counted by any Counter Measure. But it can be shot, but then the corrosion spread as a corrosive cloud.
Corrosive Ammunition
This special engineer can also create from UAs multiples unknown corrosive material usuable to create Corrosive Ammunition.
Their effect is tiny compared to Alien Corrosive Canon. It doesn't provide more damage but continue to eat the hull and modules after 10s they were shots...
Each time you need more of this unknown corrosive material you need to go back and see this special engineer.
