Following the teaser trailer of Blade Runner 2049, now comes the teaser trailer for the prequel to the Alien movies, and the sequel to Prometheus -
Alien Covenant.
And I must admit this movie teaser looked pretty mediocre. It felt indie.
Who knows, it might still turn out good.

I have to confess I hated Prometheus. So I am not looking forward to this.

I didn't hate Prometheus. It's a decent movie if you can just disconnect the reality it's is a prequel to one of the best Sci fi movies ever made. ;)
But this teaser is painful to watch due to the actual alien is in fact in a movie that in no way resembles the Alien movies.
Also, where's Noomi Rapace??

Zero expectations here. Prometheus was garbage. The new trailer isn't promising either, it's explicit where it needs to hint and evoke.

I'm gonna be biased here and say that because it has the actual proper looking Alien in it, I'm looking forward to it!

A thousand Face-Huggers for those who dare speak ill of it!!!

I was a fan the original 3 But I honestly think Prometheus although was good, but it's just not lasting. I do hope this one will be better.

Hehh! :D I guess, it's just hard to grow up to so historical movies than the first 3. The Measure is hight!

Where i see the real problem is Giger is not amongst us. To find someone to his place to keep up the level, and yet, show us something new? Not an easy task, to say nicely. So the Visual world? I have my doubts.

Edit; A man Like Giger cannot be replaced, and sure as hell a copycat is not up to the challenge, and to find someone whom in his own style in the same school can continue his legacy as good he did it? Well... Good luck with that! You need it.

Edit; First and real problem? if you take a peek to the originals and prometheus, what's the first thing you notice? Color tones. Second? less light. They were much much more darker, and used a lot of shadows than either Prometheus, or this teaser, the colors less vibrant, and where they were present, they used high contrasts shadowed, barely seen due light conditions.

Prometheus? They were trying but? Somehow just missed the essence. High surface color / light contrast paired with poor light conditions. And it was sterile yet organic and dark. Not dirty, and dark! And not CGI sterile.

I think it was good enough to watch one time but certainly not good enough to watch again, or to be remembered. Actually i had hard time to remember what's happened in the movie, or how its looked alike which in my case says something.

If you take a closer look to this and the new ones is became oblivious what's the problem right? Prometheus and Alien Covenant just way too colorful compared to the first 3 somewhat faded, but shady dark hi contrast tones. Almost like HDR pictures except they are more colorful. And the alien are not just black but have some wet oil(y) green tone, with your usual graphite + ink drawing feeling.

Hehhh. :) You also know how to paint moods, and feelings to the pictures, and this certainly somewhat lacking from Prometheus although they got the main thing but still? It was soulless.
