Aliens vs. Aliens?

After visiting the Alien site at HIP 14909 i had the feeling, that the green matter which disable the structures looks exactly like the one, that killed ships from us humans.
Also the Flowerships we have seen, have not showen any hostile activities against us (yet?).

So i think that we maybe watch a war between two different (Thargoid?) species. Something similar happened already in the past. There were different tribes of them, the Thargoids and the Oresians.
Can it really be, that we have met the Oresians yet but found only wrecks of the Thargoids?

It's just a thought but i would like to hear opinions.

This would be interesting, especially if we then had to side with the Thargoids to fight a common enemy. It would also explain where we might get advanced tech from. Just a thought.
