Aligning Building to path instead of path to building

Hi all,

I know you can make a path based on the grid from a building, but I was just wondering if there was some way to start a building based on a grid from already placed path?

Even though making a path based on a building grid is extremely helpful, I find that it isn't perfect for every situation and doing it the other way round would fix the issues I run into sometimes.

Thanks

It doesn't look to be possible at the moment. The best I could do was line my first building piece up with one square of the path grid and build from there.

Agreed ... it's also does not seem possible to save paths with building blueprints so all can be plopped at once ... I hope they allow both in the future.

I know. I'm trying to make sidewalks for my main street and it's just not possible with paths. This path system is still very wonky. It needs to be fixed right away. The game is useless if you can't make paths go where you want them. We need to be able to save path arrangements as blueprints for later use. Like circles, plazas..etc. Something like the way roads are handled in City: Skylines would be perfect. As it stands right now, the old RCT3 system of dropping one square for every piece of path seems more efficient than this goofy rubber band thing we have now. The addition of rounded pieces, diagonals and all the other various shapes that players made as path covers would be just fine, as long as it would go under buildings and allow anything to be placed on it.

Brought this up last night with my mate who was at the launch party. I mean one of the things I've been rooting for is a universal grid which would fix everything. The process I go through at the minute to line up my buildings, and rides/coaster stations with my path is a bit of a nightmare.

I suggested a universal snapping grid that, like all of the other snap features, can be turned off for those people who love to be truly free to do anything!

Been asking for this since the alpha

much needed feature!

+1
Same here.

The biggest irony was the event they had earlier this fall were YouTubers tested Alpha3 streamed with Ed by their side commenting. It happened twice were this feature were expected and even Ed was surprised it did not work to snap buildings to paths. So embarrassing. I really thought this was the eye opener for the devs.[weird]
