I have been following a post which got me to sell data to Alioth faction in 78 ursae majoris as part of an unlock for marcus qwent. Once allied and having got their permit I am told to take data delivery missions and I believe they will become modular terminal reward missions at some point. I have done 5 missions and no modular terminals and now there is not even a data delivery/courier mission. Anybody help me out here?

You have the wrong system and faction.
For Qwent, you need to be working for Sirius Corp.
If you really can't be bothered with the wait (that's all there is to do for modular terminals), you can look up the East India Company - they're a player faction who trade in engineer-specific commodities. They're based in Kappa Fornacis, iirc.
If you're working for Alioth Independents, you'll get an invitation from Bill Turner eventually, but only if you meet the unlock conditions - you'll need to be rank 3 or higher with Selene Jean, whom you are introduced to at rank 3 with Todd "The Blaster" McQuinn.

I am pretty sure I have followed the right path so far. I have the sirius permit and can go to there to get the marco qwent invitation when I have the modular terminals. Its just that there are no modular terminal missions showing up here at 78 Ursae Majoris yet? The thread I am following has been accurate so far. perhaps I just have to grind the missions until they turn into modular terminal missions?
Modular terminals as a mission reward is random - I was offered 30-odd of them just yesterday by an independent democracy faction.

So I also just got offered and acepted 25 Modular Terminals for a Data Mission remembering this post I wanted to ask if im correct that
Ive got Martuuk to level 3 so do I need to upgrade an Eagle FSD to 4 to get the Invite from Marcus or is 3 enough?
Then Ive got to work for Sirius Corp till? Im just not quiet clear what triggers the invite or if its practical to cart 25 MD,s around while working on it

You get the invitation mission from Sirius Corp when you are allied with them.
I'd consider it impractical to cart around modular terminals until you get the invite.

I was thinking of nipping over with my 200T Armed Trader Krait and doing deliveries/data /donations till allied? Ive got 23 hours left to complete that mission so in two bites it depends how long after allied before the invite
If you can get 5t more in it, it might work - the biggest individual mission I've ever seen has been 180t.
I could take the Cutter over I suppose or better yet my DBX and then ship it must look up the nearest Sirius controled system to Borann
