Newcomer / Intro All alone in Space!

Hi firstly I am a massive fan of Elite.. up until the release of Elite Dangerous I was playing the original Elite on a BBC Master, seriously... It has been a big part of my life since the 80's. I currently am bounty hunting and enjoying it immensely, I have attained Expert thus far and I am simply blown away with the beauty and scale of the game,, thankyou Frontier!! I have included a picture of my rig at home complete with my co pilot cat Alfie..

I was wanting to find out how I could start playing with other like minded people... as all of my friends are not really into gaming I am finding the multiplayer aspect of the game to be a mystery,, I would love to try Wings out and get a little deeper into the game, so I am reaching out for advice, I am a total newcomer to online gaming as I havent done it in the past,, and no im not an old fogey I am a tender age of 34!!! If anyone would like to help I would be really greatful

Try the "looking for group" thread at the top of the forum...

Also look into the private group Mobius. They are a group of friendly pilots (large group) who focus on PvE gameplay with PvP only allowed in certain zones and pre-arranged.

The good thing about this mmo is that you don't have to mmo. If you do want to play with others, help yourself, but dont feel you have to just because you can

I too am lonely in the galaxy :(
I actually know many gamers, absolutely none of whom have or are likely to buy ED (no matter how much I bleat on)!
I don't get online much as my rig is hooked to the family tv however add me as a friend and if our planets align we can hook up. I'll always be happy to follow your lead on whatever activity or direction you are currently interested in as I generally just bum around the galaxy doing anything that takes my fancy. :)
You can probably take a guess at my commander name ;D

Join some groups, chat with people on the forums, fly around in open (with suitable care for that one).

I tend to go on long exploration trips, I chat with people in-game now and then, but even without that is nice to see where other people are on the galaxy map.
