In my first week of playing I had a viper which I ditched for a Cobra on my way up the ship list. I believed it was a weak useless ship but boy have I been proved wrong.

A Viper maxed out using $3 million is near invincible. I took down three ships in one go using it without losing the outer ring of my shields and they weren't poor opposition.

People don't realise how strong a maxed out viper is.

That used to be true to some extent, but if I were you I'd be more carefull when fighting cmdrs in a Python, FDL or Vulture.

I've been hitting the RES in Dakvar for the Tanmark goal and i didn't want to use my clipper for it so I bought and fully fitted it out and I agree with you. I hadn't spent much time in the Viper before but it's awesome. With a top level shield it takes really concentrated fire to bring it down and twin medium pulse lasers melt enemy shields like butter.
i wish my Clipper had a fighter bay so that I could carry one around with me.

On the turret mountings there is now the option to buy shield boosters. I have 2 fitted on my viper and my shield can brush off huge amounts of firepower with shields barely dropping.
