Another week, another Community Goal (CG).
There is a CG in Hudson space to destroy Emperor's Dawn who are trying to set up a base inside Federation space.
Every Hudson Cmdr should help with this CG, not least because Zach Hudson has called on you but also because you can make a lot of money. It is easier for a Cmdr pledged to Hudson to get higher in the reward structure.
CMDRs of Rank 2-4 get a 50% bonus on all bounties in Hudson space, CMDRs at Rank 5 get a 100% bonus (or maybe more but we never talk of that). This makes hitting the top tiers much easier.
A little time spent working on this CG will pay well for all of our CMDRs.
For those that haven't taken part in a CG before:
You get paid for you combat bonds, with the Hudson bonus, then when the CG finishes you will get a bonus payment that is tiered and will depend on how well it goes overall and how much you put in.
IMPORTANT: CGs are the best place to find PvP in Elite atm, so there are going to be Cmdrs looking for a fight. This is especially true at busy times. If you are new and playing in open try to wing up and watch out for the hollow triangles (hollow = human; triangle = weapons out).
If you are experienced I would recommend going to cash in with at least one shot of SCB left. You don't want to be limping back to the station and get jumped.
If you are attacked and just want to get away here are some tips in order:
1. Stay frosty - most important thing is to stay cool
2. 4 pips to SYS, 2 to Engines - 4 pips to SYS will give you stronger shields
3. If you can fly towards then past your attacker - They will need to turn around to hit you. Do not let them ram you!
4. Use the Navigation panel on the left to chose another system and High wake out - High wake isn't affected by mass and is the safest way out.
5. If you are in a faster ship than them boost away, doing a roll and fire your chaff until you are ready to jump
6. If you are not faster than them try to out maneuver them
7. If you have SCB use them early, your shields will go down quicker than you think. Better early than late (ie never)
8. When you are ready to jump align with the system and get away.
That said if you want to practice your PvP skills this is a good time to do it (as long as you aren't carrying millions in bonds).
Lastly a bit of shameless self promotion. This is from yesterday at the CG:

For those that haven't taken part in a CG before:
- Take a combat ship to Kausalya and dock at Gernhardt Station
- Accept this CG from the bulletin board
- Fly to the Combat Zone and side with Kausalya Netcoms Organisation
- Kill the Emperor's Dawn ships
- Cash in your combat bonds back at Gernhardt Station.
You get paid for you combat bonds, with the Hudson bonus, then when the CG finishes you will get a bonus payment that is tiered and will depend on how well it goes overall and how much you put in.
