I've been around for almost as long as you can. I didnt buy into the alpha but I did join into the closed Beta. I chose Elite over Star Citizen.
Well, I bought into Star Citizen last week and "yikes". I assumed it would be an unplayable mess but it's actually more intuitive than Elite ever was. Especially flying with a mouse and keyboard. It's a small map compared to Elite and the travel times between pve missions are pretty similiar imo. Elite dangerous is basically an X series game in a sense its very one dimensional and shallow. SC is Cyberpunk in space because it is truly a next level game but it's not complete.
