All I want for Christmas is ...a super-cruise assist hotkey

You can fly where or how you want when SCA is on and when you want to go back to it just point at the locked destination and it takes over again, you don't even have to throttle back.

Simples.

But you can't disengage SCA without going off course. A key would be very nice.

True, I didn't think at the time but there are many reasons why you may want to do that prior to your intended destination. Choosing which of many RES sites to enter would be one and probably some explorationy reasons too.

Holy bejeezus y
Genuine question because I've never used used the Super Cruise Assist: what happens if you throttle up?
It returns you to free flight, but the sca is still active; it'll be warning you to return the throttle to the blue zone.

All I want for Christmas... is a one key docking permission key bind that doesn't mean you have to go into the LH panel at all. How darn hard can it be? Yet another M Brookes/Space Loach hangover that should be consigned to the scrap heap.

As to the OP. No idea re: SC assist, never used it.

So does its job but sounds just as annoying as Supercruise Assist, but ok. What is the procedure for disabling SCA then? Is it something that VoiceAttack or a Hotkey can automate?

So the process is the same as enabling it. Enabling it is:
  • go to nav panel
  • scroll through to target body
  • select it
  • select 'enable supercruise assist'
  • hope it actually enabled, because sometimes it doesnt
  • return to flying

It's not really automatable due to the need to scroll through to the target body, but a hotkey for enabling/ disabling it for the currently targeted celestial body would definitely be feasible.

The need to faff around with the nav panel is the biggest source of grief for this... it's especially painful for surface targets as sca will only get you into orbit of a planet, it won't drop you out . By the time you're ready to approach the target, you're close enough that needing to interact with the nav panel can screw your approach.

Careful attention and timing can mitigate this, but those attempts are trashed by the bug where enabling and disabling the sca doesn't always work.

A hotkey to activate would be a nice addition to my list of keybinds. Having to go into the nav panel every time is not the most efficient approach for sure. being able to toggle it once location is targeted just seems more practical. Maybe they'll slip it in with this batch of changes coming up...one can hope.

Not any more; since the last update it can optionally control the throttle.

This is the useful way of using it as it means that you can zero the throttle. Then you'll stop when it drops at a station. You'll also automatically submit if interdicted.

SCA is gradually being added to all my ships which can find room. :)

The most annoying is when you stack missions and get interdicted multiple times.
SCA deactivates after each and every interdiction.
