So, I got a mission... The missions was to deliver, silver to a station. After that, I left the station after accepting the mission, with 90 thousand credits my bank, and reward for 30 thousand to deliver silver to get my new fancy ship.. I was so proud... so happy..... in that moment, I asked myself, where in the world... can I get silver.... and so I think to myself, to check google, cause you know, people are friendly, they wanna help each other right, so i looked.. if ound nothing.... and i thought.... you know.... maybe it's easy.... MAYBE I CAN FIND THE SILVER BY MYSELF.... AND SO I GET HAPPY AGAIN, THINKING IM GOING TO MAKE A TRIP TO THE NEXT STAR SYSTEM, AND BUY SOME SILVER, 4 QUANITY TO BE PRECISE. I HAD ENOUGH SPACE IN MY SIDE WINDER, YA SEE.... so then open my galaxy map up... and I open the... thingy that makes you see where certain resources are... you see.... and I get happier,, and i see something.... i see an orange line indicating that silver may be in the next star system, SO I GET HAPPY... AND I LEAVE THE SPACE STATION, AND I TURN ON MY DESTINATION ENGAGE... AND I LEFT FOR THE NEXT STAR SYSTREM.... I'M SO HAPPY MAN, AND THEN I... I TRAVEL TO THE NEXT SPACE STATION IN THE NEXT STAR SYSTEM, AND I DOCK, YEAH I DOCK TO THAT MOTHA CLUCKING SPACE SYSTEM., AND IM LIKE YEEE BOY...... AND then..... and then..... I see there is no silver...... NO SILVER!! AND I ASK.... WHY U DO THIS TO ME MANE!

This is the golden nugget of info! Forget trade routes, as I am BB mission driven. I just need to know where everything is produced! Easy to make great Creds when you know where to find somethin fast.

Thanks for replying and taking me seriously, I feel like I am going in circles with understanding the hole trading aspect of the game, where the time you spent versus the actual deliver and trading information to get from point a to be effectively without wasting time is really hard to manage because of the little information they provide you, it's basically a hit or miss, you may go into a system with the correct resources but at times I feel like they wont have it at all, so what is the point???? They really need to fix the trading route info screen, it's that bad, I can't figure out how to make any money from it. The only thing I can do properly is the mini missions where you deliver cargo, and I want a new ship and everything

Thanks Tronicus, exactly what I was trying to refer to in my first post.. the intention was the frustration of not knowing exactly what you are doing with trading, the trade routes unless you learn them by heart can be difficult to understand sometimes. Like, I went to find silver which is a metal and looked in the next station in another star system with the appropriate resource trade mark but couldn't find it, then I just gave up. I really wish they made a newer trade route, I feel like the hole line to where-ever is just a place holder at this point, they could add a function which allows you to see the percentage of a certain resource that is likely to be there... I mean, is this the dark ages, or the space age. I can't figure out which. Hahaha...

For the first week I just took those high paying delivery missions nothing else, wont get outa bed for less than 50000C Every half hour or so I would find something paying 150.000 or 160.000c Never bothered much with the fetch me stuff missions.. fetch it yourself lol

After I started building up a healthy bank balance and big cargo bay (100T in the Type-6) I searched for two nearby systems that would allow me to trade back and forth, started making around 100,000 c per trip. Upgraded to a ASP 160T cargo, I'm making around 250,000 to 300,000 per trip.

Would have carried on to the type-9 but I don't see any point since Gamma is near. It's not that hard to make cash, you just have to persevere and hunt down two or three good systems to trade between. Personally I suggest just outside of the core systems.

Bingo. I have a 3 station run. None of them are beyond 400 LS from the nav beacon, one is 36ls.

I go to 1 and pick up missions and drop cargo. Go to 2, pick up missions and drop cargo plus sell everything. Load up with Proto cells, (Lankton 6) and do a 3 hop run to number 3. Drop the proto cells, bank 100 to 120k. Pick up all the goods for the missions, then do a 2 hop to number 1.

repeat. be bored. make bank. Every round trip is about 200kish, sometimes more. Every now and then an odd mission pops up to a 4th station. That is a quick 100k run when it happens.

Always pick up high value stolen missions. You never know when that 80k multiday mission for tea or silver will be matched with a normal run for that product. Just pick up the mission, cancel in base and then turn in the stolen goods. Black market the leftovers or just take the fine and dump when you leave. That is a random score.

Some good music definitely helps on those long tedious back and forth trade runs. I've built so many playlists now, just listening to bands old and new, managed to get though Nirvana's and Muse's entire back catalogue the other night, haven't heard them in ages (am showing my age!)

Took me a while to find this...Open the galaxy map, and go to the trade route..thingy. If you look at the bottom of the menu you can select and deselect what is shown, right? Now CLICK ON THAT LITTLE ARROW next to where it says Metals. You can now deselect everything on the map apart from silver.
