All of the problems with this game make me nervous for Jurassic World

I realize this post may be moved. Anyway, to be completely honest, I can't say I have a lot of confidence in Frontiers ability to make a good video game. I am a huge fan of the Jurassic Park franchise and having played Jurassic Park Operation Genesis many times I am fairly excited for Frontier's Jurassic World Evolution. That said, the missteps in this game have kind of made me lose confidence in the company. For me, it's similar to the situation with EA. They have screwed up so many times with their games that I am no longer excited when I learn they are involved with a new game.

Some of the decisions made by Frontier in this game make absolutely no sense. In my opinion, a lot of this games problems are simply down to terrible decision making rather than technical limitations and such. I ask this mostly in jest but is Jurassic World Evolution going to rely on third party sites too? Perhaps those making the poor decisions for Elite are not involved with Jurassic World Evolution, or are better at park sims than space sims. I do take some comfort in the fact that apparently Frontiers other game Planet Coaster is pretty good. I know this post was somewhat rude, but its truly how I feel, sorry.

To be fair, the problem with Elite is the complexity of the algorithms that generate the 'procedurally generated stuff'. It seems it's nearly impossible to affect one thing and not everything else as well. This leads me to believe that the base game was not well lthought out in terms of being adjustable and expandable in a distant future (which has now arrived). A case of having made the bed, now we have to lie in it.

Jurassic World is a far different proposition, its assets will be single purpose, very little proc gen, very little RNG, so I really can't see any crossover. I expect I'll buy Jurassic World, then not play it and carry on playin Elite anyway.

Two VERY different games. FD made a theme park game called Planet Coaster - one of the best games in its genre. As far as JP one goes I have full faith it will deliver. And please do not compare FD to EA hehe, not even close :)

There's no excuse for buying a poor game these days especially when you have thousands of reviewers and on top of that, you can refund a game on Steam if you've played less than 2 hours. Check Youtube for reviews, read reviews online, visit the forums and see what people are saying :)

Just because there is "SALE" sign in the window doesn't mean there is a sale of what you want inside.

Marketing hype is never usually matched by reality, fact of life. FDev are no different to anyone else in that regard.

Be aware and make your own judgement (base it on fact an experience where you can).

Going on from this just wait until it's at half price as well. I did that with GTA V - bought it at half price, didn't play it for almost 2 years after that and then when I did finally get around to playing it, I had all the DLC content at my fingertips and all the bugs pretty much worked out.

If it's a single player game, there is literally no point buying it the day it goes on sale. Wait for the price to drop and then buy it.

What if the reviews are "Mixed" like with Elite Dangerous lol

BUG REPORT:

The yellow spotted egg has spawned a Triceratops instead of a T-Rex even though I've put it into the correct class 4 incubator set to "over easy" on a wednesday and checked that the lights in all adjacent rooms were turned off. I've even recited the incantations three times in spite of the forum consensus that once should suffice if one just remembers to replace the seventh word with "crustacean".

FRONTIER FIX PLZ

Are you worried that the game will break and let all the dinosaurs out?

Actually.....that would be fun! Feast my lovelies! :D

Well, the trailer for Jurassic World looks pretty amazing, so surely the game will live up to the hype.

ED is so different from a SP game, PC is actually a very good game and also very popular so you don't need to be worried.
