All-Star Pack

Quick challenge here:

Let's imagine that the plan is announced that the next pack is an All-Star pack of 5 species, after which will be all the packs you personally think would be best with exactly the animals you want

But first, you get to pick the All-Star pack.

Just the 5 most iconic habitat species currently missing you just want to get out the way so your genuine favourites can start getting in after?

If they ever do anything like this it would make more sense to save it for the end, as a "popularly requested characters that we didn't cover in the last packs" thing.

If they go for an intermediate between our standard packs and animal packs (5-6 habitat animals), I'd like to see some foliage included too. There's a lot of plants they could add to help round out plant types for each continent and biome pairing.
Personally, I feel like they'd disguise something like this as an Threatened Species Pack, so we might see something like this:
  • Black Rhinoceros
  • Leopard
  • Przewalski's Horse
  • African Spurred Tortoise
  • Tasmanian Devil
  • Axolotl

All star pack would be economically unjustified but if it would need to happen I’d say it could contain:

Leopard
Emu
Gibbon

For the community noting these don't all match up with my own (actually only two do!)

Capybara (headliner!)
Emu (not quite as highly ranked in the meta list but very iconic)
Leopard (Probably Amur to give an Asian species)
Red River Hog

I had made ideas of endangered, missing and fan farewell packs which covered a good amount of requested animals.
If I could do an all star pack I’d perfect to make it an animal pack of 7+1 so we can cover all stars from the globe
If there’s one more pack to come out focused on heavily requested animals
1. NA collared Peccary
2. SA manned Wolf
3. Africa Shoebill
4. Europe wolverine
5. India gibbons
6. Asia Prezwalskis horse
7. Oceania wombat
I’d say one of the most requested exhibit critters the Axolotl

  • Capybara
  • Sand Cat
  • Yellow-Throated Marten
  • Roosevelt Elk
  • Matschie's Tree-Kangaroo
  • Southern Elephant Seal (It's a wish of mine)
  • Exhibition: Alligator Snapping Turtle (If there were an enclosure with a size larger than the one that currently exists)

Doing what other people doing and disguising it as an endangered species pack:

  • Scimitar-horned oryx

  • Lar gibbon
  • Secretary bird
  • Axolotl (exhibit)
But again--I don't think they would stuff so many "star" animals into one pack like this, at least not until the very end of PZ's lifespan if there were some left over.

These are the 5 truly essential animals remaining, in my opinion. If support for the game suddenly had to end after one more pack and this was it, I don't think I'd have any regrets. Of course I'll always want more, but these are the last 5 must-haves.

If I were to add 2 more species to make it an animal pack, I'd add the siamang (lar gibbon is fine too) and Przewalski's horse, but I'd say they're half a rung below those first five.

Honestly...I would take out the Leopard and add in a Gibbon species. We already have a leopard species and a Amur Leopard could be modded in using the Jaguar model or snow leopard model. Gibbons is the one species that we don't have that is super unique. PZ really needs to add brachiation and it won't be just for the gibbons, but would be added to all other ape species in the game. I feel the ape species will benefit greatly if it's added and bring more realism to the game. Also, replace the Dromedary for a African Crane or something else that gives us new animations I would be extremely happy.

I've got a few guesses as to what you're referring to here and regardless of which one you were thinking, it's wrong. We don't have a leopard in the game, full stop, and it's a particularly egregious omission. They're one of the few species remaining that I feel is a household name while also having a spotlight position in zoos. Mods aren't a good excuse in this case either, imo. I'd accept having to mod in most things that end up missing a cut, but a leopard is just too much. Not including it before the end of DLC would be practically negligent.

It's not that I don't want a leopard at all, but it's just that I would rather have something that will bring something entirely new like a Gibbon, flying birds/aviaries, fish/aquariums, etc. and then worry about copy paste animals. I want to fill in all the gaps for animations in PZ before I worry about adding animals with the same animations. That way when PZ is finished the modders got all the animations they need to make any animal in PZ for us. It makes sense to get that out of the way first. I'm looking at the big picture...the end result. Of course Frontier might gives us modding tools to be able to make any animal we want in PZ, but that is wishful thinking.

For an all star pack, there's some things that seem like they'd be shoe ins

  • Leopard (Doesn't really matter which species, they're the biggest group of well known cats not in game)
  • Emu
  • Capybera
  • Dromedary Camel
  • Naked Mole Rat (Exhibit)

For an animal pack, there are a few more

  • North American Porcupine
  • Must Ox
  • Tazmanian Devil
