All The DLC talk says something...

You covered a lot of great points here. I definitely agree with most of it and I think a solution would be to add More challenge a and scenarios like you said to different modes. I especially like the fur variation idea and there are plenty other possibilities.

I think you make a good point I enjoy sandbox over any other mode. I only play franchise to get the outfit usually, don’t get me wrong I will usually release more then said amount to get the outfit but I usually bore of this and quit. Now if I preferred franchise or challenge which seems very repetitive in a lot of ways I might not enjoy PZ near as much. Sandbox on the other hand gives me creativity and the ability to make new things. So the game to me is much more then simply 4 new animals to play with. The biggest problem for me is I can be a bit of a perfectionist in the realism so I restart my zoos quite often. But to me pz offers so much creativity the game never really gets old to me. I’ll admit I usually only play for a hour or two at a time only because building stuff with motivation is much easier in short sessions before tiring of it. New content and animals definitely help but I enjoy building for a lot of the original animals just as well.

Honestly for me the content/gameplay isn't the issue. I do enjoy new DLC's, as they give me motivation to play more, but in general my biggest problem is that it is so difficult to start again. Once the zoo reaches a certain point and my computer starts lagging or if I get a big new idea that won't work in my current build or something I often want to begin anew, but it's so tedious to redecorate everything. Which is in itself frustrating, because I do enjoy the building aspect of the game, it's just that I can only decorate a toilet block so many times before it gets boring.
Thank you for writing something I never knew how to express.
I love Planet Zoo but sometimes I feel like I'm not patient enough for this game.
Even back in the day, when I played ZT and Wildlife Park, it seemed like I had the most fun in the first 3 hours of building the Zoo. I barely completet a Zoo because I always just started a new one. In ZT and WP, that wasn't a problem, but it is tedious in PZ because of the reasons NZFanatic mentioned.
Right now, when I play PZ, I could describe my motivation level with a graph. When I build a new habitat, my motivation is pretty high, but then it drops when I realise that I now have to place food courts, toiletts, decoration... This is the time where I mostly take a break from the game.

I don't know if DLC's will help here. First I was really exited about the new pieces, but now I finished the husk of a giant aztec temple (the inside and the decoration is still not finished) and I just feel exhausted. I didn't even tried the new animals yet.

And this makes a good point of how everyone has different preferences. I only play franchise and career, I find sandbox boring (feels like playing a game with cheats enabled to me). If sandbox was all there was i probably would have tired of the game after a couple weeks. I am glad they have the different modes to accommodate different preferences.

Agreed. I’m glad they have different modes as well. I like jwe but the absolute one thing I despised was having to unlock all dinosaurs through missions. I did it I don’t have every dlc but did unlock every single one that I currently have. That’s what I do love about pz tho the best of both worlds a challenge for people who prefer it and a sandbox that offers everything for those that prefer to build without hassle.

It was annoying having to unlock every dinosaur but it was very fun to have the various challenges and obstacles in obtaining them. The research, money , etc it gave you stuff to do and at times pretty challenging which was fun. Not saying I like this better just saying it added another element to the game.

People have been discussing Planet Zoo DLCs even before the game was released. I think it's not so much as boredom of the game, but excitement for all the things that are yet to come. I think it offers a little bit of something for every zoo player - we have 4 game modes.

There are no doubt multitudes of reasons as to why people discuss potential DLC.

I'm a career mode lover myself though I am getting myself more into franchise by setting myself some goals / giving myself some narrative. I was a little disappointed there was no new scenarios in the DLC but at least with hard mode I have an excuse to go back through all of the campaign.
