With the shock of verified sightings of non human vessels deep in the black still echoing throughout the galactic community, new allegations have arisen pertaining to the Federation and Empire covering up open hostilities between humanity and what has been tentatively labelled the Thargoid race. Two Commanders have sighted four different vessels, two Farragut class battlecruisers and two Interdictor battlecruisers sporting what they referred to as "impossible levels of damage". Worried about reprisal they insisted on anonymity, using an encrypted tightbeam transmission. In their own words:
CMDR 1. I saw the Farragut sitting in the drydock outside of the station. I've forced these things to run before. Them and those pretty little Interdictors. It's simple, knock out the heat relays they jump away. But you can't actually punch through the armor plating...
CMDR 2. Holes..the [EXPLETIVE DELETED] holes were the size of my Corvette.
Reporter. A Corvette?
CMDR 1. Yes, same with the Interdictors. There were two of them drydocked in the Imperial system I investigated. They both had massive gashes in the hull.
Reporter. You went out to Empire space just to hunt one down?
CMDR 1. Yes. And the fact that I found two by sheer chance means this is likely not an uncommon event.
CMDR 2. The Feds and the Imperials are either fighting these things or being ambushed by these things. And based on how badly these ships were shot up things aren't going so well...
Reporter. Are these ships there now?
CMDR 2. No.
Reporter. How can you expect any reasonable person to believe such allegations without proof?
CMDR 1. We have pictures.
