quick question but if ive gained rank in the federation could i also go gain rank in the empire as well... I know they are at war the only reason i ask is would i lose permits to earth or ships that i had to gain rank to fly.

Don't worry they don't interact at all.
They are not at war anyway, maybe one day they will and your rank with matter more apart from permits and the odd ship

oh ok... another question i went to megrez and clark terminal says its state is at war but how do i find out who they are at war with. I do not see it on the galnet.

Scroll through the factions on your right panel, see what state they are currently in

yes I know that and it says current state is war but there are no conflict zones

Conflict zones are always near a planet; you only see them in you Nav panel once you're close to a planet where a CZ is.

i understand that but im flying aroudn and i do not see any conflict zones and the state says war on the system map but when i go into the 4 panel it has nothing for pending states.

Maybe the faction is at war with another faction from a different system? You could try jumping into all the different closest systems to the one you are in and checking for cz's in them?

Or you could just check your system maps of the nearby star systems to see if only one faction is at war, which may indicate its at war with the faction in your current system. I haven't participated in a multi-system war, so I'm not really sure of a better way to find out who is at war.

Just in case you experience this uncommon bug- if you enter a conflict zone and only one faction is available to choose, then leave the conflict zone immediately! You may have to restart the game to straighten things out if this is the case.

But you do have to look for conflict zones to find them.... Just curious, is the war in a system that has another star far away from the first star you jump to? If so, the conflict zones might be there.

If it says "war," it is either at war with an invading faction or is itself an invading faction and the CZs are in another system.

If it says "civil war," the CZs are definitely in the system, but are more than 500ls away.
