Hi Guys,

have you ever seen one of the major players in game? I think I just stumbled across my own faction leader, or am I reading it wrong and the scanned ship belongs to Mahon. Raises the question...what happens if I interdict and kill him? Is this at all possible

"Alliance Bureaucrat" is the pilot's name/call sign. The bottom line "Edmund Mahon" refers to the faction to which the NPC reports.

You are reading it wrong.

Fist line is the name: Alliance Bureaucrat
Next line is the rank: Dangerous
3. line is the leal status: Clean
last line is the name of the pledged power: Edmund Mahon.
