How do you check to see what state a system is in? I ask as my bounty hunter's home system might be about to enter civil war.

Update

Latest info has been posted.

I was fighting in Nzambassee. Unfortunately things did not go well there. The Alliance failed to secure influence over the system and the war is now over. :(

Fighting has broken out in Chaac, but this is between two Alliance factions. Unless you have a personal interest in the system, fighting here will gain us nothing :(

I have moved on to HDS 1879. Better news here. There are two Alliance factions fighting independent factions. The Alliance is now the dominant power in the system and is gaining influence :)

If anyone has any more details on the other active systems I would be very interested to hear.

I'm not sure about exactly how the faction influence works in the game...I'm a trader so if I bring commerce to an Alliance faction at their station will that help them in their struggles to gain influence?

As a trader you can take trade based jobs from the bulletin board for the faction of your choice. Wen you complete these missions that factions influence in that system will increase. :)

Yes doing missions for them mainly as far as i know. There is a thread somewhere about it. Missions do the most. Bringing in weapons etc for them.

Thanks, I kinda thought that's how it works but I really wasn't too sure...When 1.3 gets here I imagine I'll be siding with the Alliance...might as well get off to a head start

Don't forget that The CODE, flipped Leesti from Alliance to Reynhardt Intellisys. This NEEDS to be flipped back.

Some good news on Galnet:

'After 3 weeks of intense activity in the Lave Cluster, the Alliance Elite Diplomatic Corps (AEDC) has managed to return control of Reorte to an Alliance aligned faction.'

How's Leesti going? I'll have thousands of exploration data scans to sell when I get back (another week or so depending on how much time I get to play). If I come and sell it in Leesti, can that benefit the effort to return it to Alliance? If so, where do I sell? :)

Just give me a PM when you're on the way back! Ill give you a heads up on where to sell. (Or join us in the AEDC - link in my sig-line)

As regards Leesti, war to flip it back to the alliance should have occurred already (on more than once occasion), however the system is the victim of a background sim bug. Once the bugs clear Leesti will return to the fold.

It is important to note that the Lave cluster is only one area of operations for the Alliance. We are easily able to keep the (relatively low level of)Code activity in check while also increasing alliance influence in other areas of the galaxy. The New Caribbean Project is dead and 20 stations flipped to the Alliance in April alone.
