Alliance Chieftain AX Jumpstart (prebuilt ship) questions?

Since the 'Thargoid War' seems (for the moment?) to be over -- if a person were to buy this pre-built ship would it be waste of money...or can the things like the "Caustic Sink Launcher', 'Xeno Scanner', or 'Thargoid Pulse Neutraliser' be used still against NPC's or other players?

I am fairly certain you can upgrade everything if you wish. Some stock modules you can't store or sell, but you can trade them for what modules you want to upgrade.

Hmm… it was never a great AX build.

The ship is one of the best, if not the best, anti-Thargoid ships in game. It’s easy to find your feet with and is still used by top AXI pilots.

I wouldn’t be looking at the prebuilt for anything other than AX, but if you’ve got the spare cash and want to reduce your rebuy it is a decent base for an AX ship, but requires some hefty changes.

I have all my AX ships parked in Asterope for when I fancy whacking some Thargoids.

I'm probably misunderstanding something...but I thought the Thargoid War was over? So from what is posted above, a person may still encounter/fight Thargoids?

Ok, thank you...I mistakenly thought that all the Thargoid in-game "stuff" was over, so I wondered why the ship I asked about in first post was still being sold, if there were no Thargoids to fight...I just need to be more aware of in-game activities.

It won’t be long before you can buy, outfit, and engineer your own. Unlocking the engineers is something that you will really want to do anyway and the unlocking requirements will expose you to many of the game activities. So my advice is save your arx, especially for the pre-built chieftain. Just my $0.02
