Alliance - Mahon - Fortification

Folks, remember there is no value at all to continuing to fortify a system once it reaches 100%. It does absolutely nothing for Mahon and is (as far as Mahon is concerned) wasted effort.

I think there is still confusion on how undermining works (certainly for mel).
-Some state that if the overall undermining percentage is above the fortification percentage at the end of week, then the system is undermined. Even if both percentages are way over 100%
-Others state, that its a race to 100% and whoever gets there first (Fortification or undermining) determines the rollover state of the system at the end of turn

I think the confusion on which of these two scenarios is true, drives over fortification panic (that and proximity to a system generally for each individual)

Clarification of this issue would probably assist - but I cant find a definitive answer, has anyone else?

Pick a system where undermining and fortification reached the trigger, then read whats below those two bars. Not ingame right now, but it says "Fortification cancels Undermining, Undermining cancels Fortification" - a stalemate. Therefore, the faction has to pay the default CC cost next cycle (meaning avaiable overall CC is lower). For neither side, there is one single reason to put one more point in it beyond the status "trigger reached", at least not as it is now. If both sides reach the trigger, the same thing happens as if the system wasn't touched at all.

So, to make it short. When it comes to Control Systems - reach your trigger and be done with it.

Ok this is how it works:

- System X costs you 22cc per cycle (week) by default
- If you fortify System X to 100% and this is not undermined to 100% it cost you 0cc this cycle
- If it is undermined to 100% and not fortified to 100% it cost more cc for example 100cc this cycle
- If it is fortified to 100% and undermined to 100% they cancel out and the system cost the original 22cc

Fortifying or undermining a system beyond 100% has no further effect.

To see this go to Mahon's PP screens and look at Leesti on the Control tab. In the fortify and undermining boxes it shows both triggers have been reached and are cancelling each other out.

In other words, everything you need to know is on the Control tab of your chosen power.

CMDR Beltane and Saool - Awesome - yep I understand how the system works (now), I just cant find an "Official" release of the process as a reference. I can confirm this myself by observing a weekly rollover, I just can reference that evidence for others - I'll keep looking
Reps - for clarifying for me though - thx

Now - off to earn merits and fortify more systems

It's all in game. Go to the Galactic Powers screen and then onto your power of choice. Each tab deals with a different aspect of Power Play on on those tabs it lays out how each system works.

Right - once the trigger is met there is no need to continue running trade agreements/contracts/etc. If both sides reach their trigger they cancel out. It would be nice if the trigger in a particular system is met and you try to further contribute it would give you a little "NOTE: The objective trigger has been met are you SURE you wish to deliver further agreements?" but of course it's not just lack of knowledge that is contributing to massive over-fortification, but also many CMDRs merit farming for rank.

Just to clarify when supporting or opposing an expansion it is the total percentage that counts. And this can be above the 100% level.

Updated.

Need to stop over fortifying and put that effort into systems at less that 100% fortification.

I would just like to add that this is absolutely vital information as it seems to be one of the most misunderstood parts of PP as things stand (just to play devil's advocate - fortify and undermine will change - just a matter of when ;) )

For everyone's information - Saool is correct in that this process is clearly documented in game, under each of the tabs against your power ...under the help button in the bottom right corner (Which I seem to have not seen till yesterday :-S)
