Alliance Rank Suggestions

Supposing the Alliance follows the other two superpowers, and has a ranking system. What would the ranks be?

The Fed's ranking is based on a militaristic structure.

The Empire's is based on the ranks of the Royalty, Aristocracy, Gentry, and Peasantry.

Since the Alliance is meant to be more like the EU, I think they should be more bureaucratic!
For example, Clark, Administrator, Secretary, Commissioner, Ambassador, Envoy, etc.

So make you suggestion for the ranks AR1 - AR14. Remember to submit on the correct form in triplicate, or you will be rejected! ;)

AR1 - Better than Outsiders
AR2 - Better than Cadets
AR3- Better than Masters
AR4 - Better than Petty Officers
AR5 - Better than Knights
AR6 - Better than Warrant Officers

You get the pattern. :D

But some more diplomacy/representative titles like the ones you proposed would be fine. Goes to represent that the title comes with other tasks outside war. Would really like something along those lines.

The ranks wouldn't give you access to ships. They'd affect you expenses, pension, department budgets and so on. Once the structure is in place, several commissions will be set up to evaluate all proposals, and a 10 million page report will be presented to the Alliance Parliament.

Brexit means Brexit!*

I like the idea of a political rank - reminds me a little of Rome Total War, where your family could hold various positions in the Senate.

Without firing up RTW now (don't tempt me) Pontifex Maximus was the top office, Quaestor was at the bottom, with another 4 ranks bewtixt them.

However, that's about and ranks shy, and the clue is in the name Roman Empire..

*For the record, I'm joking

IMMERSION

:p

If I have to do another one of those, 'extremely interesting and challenging grinds' to gain a rank for any of the new ships, they can keep them.

Don't think the Alliance will get a ranking system.

That would be a really bad move of FDEV, since Imperials and Feds could rank up for 3 years now by completing missions, but Alliance players that completed 1000 of missions didn't get any rank for it.

Lot's of players would be upset about that. If they wanted ranking for Alliance, they should have introduced it at the same time as the others.

1 - Hall Monitor
2 - Prefect
3 - Class President
4 - Head Prefect
5 - Councillor
6 - Deputy Mayor
7 - Mayor
8 - Lt Governor
9 - Governor
10 - Congressman
11 - Senator
12 - Speaker
13 - Prime Minister
14 - President

Does ED keep track of how many missions you've completed per faction in the statistics panel? If so, to me there's a fair and simple method. If, say 100 missions gets you rank 3 for either Imps or Feds, and you've done the same number for Alliance, then you're able to find a Navy mission to get you to that rank.

Clark, Administrator, Secretary, Commissioner, Ambassador, Envoy
Not like the EU, and definitely not like the United State, Russia or China. I'd suggest modelling it on the UN as it's the only global model we have, less the corruption of course ;-)

1 - Apprentice
2 -
Agent
3 -
Administrator
4 - Executive

5 - Commissioner
6 - Manager
7 -
Director
8 -
Trustee
9 -
Delegate
10 - Assembly Member
11 - Govenor
12 - Ambassador
13 - First Minister
14 - Prime Minister

Which gives a nice transition from private to public sector operations ;-)

Keeping in theme with both the premise that the Alliance isn't a military force outright, but more a coalition or cooperative, but still maintains a hierarchy for their own defense.

Given the Alliance is the most aggressive expansionist superpower in the galaxy, I'd make them a little less administrative :D

Merchant Navy ranks, maybe? https://www.marineinsight.com/careers-2/a-guide-to-merchant-navy-officer-ranks/

1/ Clerk
2/ Clerk Supervisor
3/ Chief Clerk Supervisor
4/ Regional Chief Clerk Supervisor
5/ Planetary Chief Clerk Supervisor
6/ System Central Supervisor
7/ Head of Division of Donut Frying
8/ District Head of Donut Frying
9/ Honourary Mahon Bro
10/ Official Mahon Bro
11/ Mahon's Ethgrezian Bud Tester
12/ Official of Olfactory Pleasures

That is all, as you were.

3 years, you are quick! In one year (300h) with no grind (but focus on missions for superpower factions) i got Ensign/Master. This is nuts.
