Alliance ranks please

I'm going to suggest the obvious one for all of us who are part of the Alliance.

It makes sense that because the Alliance is like a coming together of many independent systems as one collective, that there should be a collective army, kinda like the equivalent of NATO I guess. So yes, the Alliance needs ranks just like Empire and Federation, lets truly make the Alliance an equal, so its about a choice of 3, not a choice of 2.

..and as a side note, could the Alioth system be tweaked so its stations aren't quite so far away from the initial star jump point?

I actually kind of disagree. I think that if you want to get a similar level of progression, become allied with many of the alliance space factions.

Yup, thats all a part of it, rank specific ships and we can see more community goals similar to those of the Empire recently etc etc.

This is the Alliance after all, which needs to be made more distinct from merely Independents imho.

Hell even the small Rebel Alliance in Star Wars had ranks, custom ships, generals..... IT'S A TRAP!
