Alliance Rep

I'm trying to get a bit of love from the Alliance, not least of which because of the engineer requirements.

Having a really rubbish time grinding this, shipped over my Asp and started courier missions, but progress is super slow. I only seam to be able to get a single mission to any system and its taking for ever.

In two weeks (albeit with limited play time) I've gone from 8% (yes i think a long time ago they were the subject of CZ fury) to 19%.

Any idea where i can go to effectively stack alliance missions - i was spoilt a bit with Quince, but there must be somewhere i can get at least a handful at once (and preferably not have to travel Ks of light years from the jump point)?

Thing is the more the like you, the better missions you get.
Now find an alliance system with a rez site or two. Kill some wanted's, gain rep local AND alliance, keep on, checking boards when you dock, you should very fast see that you options increase.
The essential of this game is gaining rep with minors, as many places as possible, with as many factions in system as possible., and the y will love you. A boom system where you are allied to 90 % of the factions, will drown you in credits :).
Now repeat with next system. There is no "Quince" (Frown) way of doing this, it is "hard work" in the start, but it pays of.
Hope this helps. :)

Bounty hunting. Pick an Alliance system.
KWS everything. If it's wanted and it's not Alliance you'll get some Alliance bounty.
Cash in frequently. Don't stack them high.

There are plenty of missions in the area I'm operating in. This has to do with positive states like 'boom' and 'expansion'.

Other states spawn way less missions. This might be the case in your current system.
Be aware that a lot of other factors play into mission generation, too.

Here's a quick overview on beneficial states and what to do:

any state (including none)
Bounty hunting. Go bounty hunting in an Alliance system and cash in your bounties at an Alliance controlled station.

(civil) war
Look at the faction status summary at a station to find out where the conflict takes place and fight for the Alliance faction.

election
Lots of missions.

boom
Lots of missions. Trade with Alliance controlled stations or sell them your mined stuff.

expansion
Lots of missions. Alternatively go on a short exploration trip (~ 300-500 LY on economical route plotting) and hand in your exploration data at an Alliance controlled station.

famine
Lots of donation missions. Sell medicine at Alliance controlled stations.

outbreak
Lots of donation missions. Sell food at Alliance controlled stations.

As you can see from your experience mindless grinding is sometimes not very effective. You have to be smart and look around. :)

This worked for me, thanks for that. I Headed to Holiacan, where there is a comprimised Nav beacon in alliance space, and 10-15 mins bounty hunting took my up around 25% in rep. Wasn't getting a permit, so did some more hunting and went over to 78 Ursae Majoris, dropped the tokens there and Alliance Independents offered me a permit on the next board refresh.

Thanks for all the help.
