Alliance specific "ships"

Or rather give the Alliance Overhaul options.
Cmdrs have to dock at an Alliance station with a specific ship if they want it "tuned"

Like give them the same ranking system as the other two, but instead of permits and specific ships for example give ech rank some ship customisations.

At rank 2 you could have a Asp explorer transporter variant where it gains two additional rank 5 cargo slots but a R4 FSD
At rank 3 a changed T7 with more hardpoints a better power plant and fewer optional internals

And for the big ships, maybe at rank 10 a T9 marauder overhaul where the c8 slot is changed to 7 and 4 medium and a large Hard point, also a bigger pp and distributor.

The Concept is good but your implementation is not.
what your suggesting is that the alliance players get thier own 'engineers' so to speak but that breaks game balance honestly. because then everybody has to play alliance for that and as it stands quite a few of the engineers are alligned with the alliance. for example Tod 'the blaster' Mcquine requires 100k alliance bounties turned in and is located in alliance space.
a better implementation of this idea would be that you could BUY different MODELS of the ships rather than edit it. because its 'cheaper' or 'easier' to buy a purpose built vehicles than retrofit one for something else. i know ive been guilty of buying a python for mining rare metals rather than edit my anaconda.
it would add more depth to the customization and would be very logical. because changing things around inside a vessel is alot easier when designing than making a new vessel altogether. so a anaconda that loses its huge hardpoint and uses that space for more internal space. swapping two of its class 6 optional internals for an extra class 7. or splitting them for additional class 5's because all space in ships is exponential and doubles weight and size with each class. 2 class 1 internals is one class 2, two of those is one class 3 so an and so forth so the hull VOLUME cant increase but the usage of the vessel can change dramaticly by what you do with the insides. hell the engineers could even sell purpose built ships. i know the blaster has 2 anacondas docked up and a type 9 on the ground in his area.
BUT the alliance needs more implamentations. David Braben is holding out on us because the thargoids are buddy buddy with the alliance after they saved them bugs from the feds and imperials.

I think the implementation would be a little tricky, just because there's no way right now to change the module slots on ships from their factory default.

What I'd like to see is a stronger role for the Alliance's sub-factions. The AIS is supposed to be this NATO/EU-esque organization composed of many factions banding together for collective security, but the Alioth Independents are the only one of those factions that's got any screentime.

Rather than a naval rank progression like the Feds and Imps, I'd like to see a handful of core Alliance factions grant access to a unique ship at Allied status - meaning they could be unlocked in any order.

So, for example, you get something like:

* A medium Alliance fighter being unlocked by getting Allied with Alioth Independents
* A large Alliance fighter-freighter being unlocked by getting Allied with [some Alliance minor faction]
* A small Alliance exploration craft being unlocked by getting Allied with [some other Alliance minor faction]
* A large Alliance Corvette/Cutter equivalent being unlocked by getting Allied with all three of the above

This would probably be a little easier to implement without major engine changes.
