Allied npc wanted?

Hi was res farming and nav farming today and kept finding that most of the wanted ships were allied to me? Naturally I didn't attack them, I was in fact I was tempted to defend them, but didn't know if was a bug or not? Thoughts?

Ships that are flagged friendly to you can still be criminals. They might even decide to attack you. The game determines friend or foe based on the faction they're a member of, but if they've gone criminal they can pick up bounties. There's no penalty for destroying allied ships that are wanted in the system you're in.

It can happen. It means they have accidentally tagged someone or they are playing at being a pirate. It won't harm you to claim the bounty even for a faction you are allied to. Just don't over-do it.
