An interesting interview with a Paleo artist who worked on the short movie and helped with the Allosaurus design. The design was not based on an a A. Fragilis, but another species of Allosaurus.

Since the design is different enough, I think we should get a Battle at Big Rock skin. What do you all think?

Not going to lie. I expected to see this to be the default Allosaurus for JWE2. Since we still have yet to see it, my expectations for the future direction for this game remains super low.

The JWE2 Allo design is much better than the BABR design tho. The BABR version doesn't even have a pubic boot.

I think that the vanilla Allosaurus should be replaced with the Battle at Big Rock one wholesale; regardless of whether it looks better or worse, it's what an adult Allosaurus looks like in Jurassic canon now.

I have strong opinions on how designs like the Allosaurus and Seismosaurus Mamenchisaurus adhere to the "captivating authenticity" they're pushing on the main website but I won't go into that here.

If we had the skin included, it would just add to the game. Some people might like the sexual dimorphism aspect of it. I would like it because it would represent another species of Allosaurus. If creatures like Pteranadon and Velociraptor can have varied looks in the JP movies, then Allosaurus being that the look is cannon, should have that skin available too, if the player wishes to use it.

According to Ethan Storrer, who helped with the BABR design, Universal wanted the Allosaurus to appear starving. The pubic boot was also removed from the T. rex in Jurassic Park cause... well... some parents are... overly sensitive. I imagine that the same logic applies here.

That's a terrible reason. Also the original films had correct public boots so their "logic" is flawed. I mean you're right that they changed it, probably for those reasons. I'm just saying it's terrible reasoning and a dumb decision.

Also, I'm not exactly saying the BABR design shouldn't be in the game. I'm just saying the current JWE design is just much better.

Not only should this skin be added into the game, it should be made as the default skin since it is what the adult Allo is suppose to look like in canon. The "juvenile" Allo design we have now is an embarrassment to what Allosaurus actually looked like. Thank god they fixed the design in BABR while exploiting the loop hole of the first design being a teenager. Now frontier need to do the same and bring it into JWE2.

Honestly if we were gonna get a BaBR skin it would’ve happened by now. It seems to be something out of the cards until further notice.
