Ok, so sort of two suggestions here: firstly, allow multiple fighter hangars on ships.
Obviously only 1 could be launched at a time but this would allow more fighter loadouts to switch between. This would especially help multicrew to allow different players preferred ships to be loaded.
As an addition to this, id like to see faction specific fighter loadouts available at say rank 3 or 4 with each faction.
these would have noticeably heavier weapons, but with the tradeoff that they have limited ammo capacity and have to return to the mothership for refuel.
ie: a condor variant with twin fixed cannons and chaff, dealing signif hull damage
a taipan with a pack hound missile launcher, and as its utility a shock mine deployer
an imperial fighter with twin plasma accelerators and a heat sink
so they're all pretty dangerous in a fight, but rather than staying out for a long period they have to return for a topup every fight or two....which is difficult if the mothership is ALSO in combat.
ADDITIONALLY, id like to see a cargo shuttle SLF.
basically just a brick with thrusters, moves very slowly (50 tops, 75 with boost?) no weapons or utilities, NO SHIELDS
but....can land at outposts and hand in missions there. so allows a type 9 trader or whatever to take outpost missions, but since your landing with no shield and maybe 20 hull strength you need a delicate touch
