Allow our own Carrier to always appear, on the Nav panel please? Even when we have other carriers switched off in the filter.

Hi there.
I often have Fleet carriers tuned off on my nav panel filter. As they are often of no interest.
My own carrier however is only one extra signal upon the nav panel. Plus is often of interest to me!

I propose a simple change, where even with fleet carriers turned off in your nav panel filter?
That your own fleet carrier, is always visable on the nav panel please?
It would be a nice simple quality of life change please.

Not so sure it would be “simple” as you imply. Judging by how the filter works, items are grouped and therefore will be coded into each group. How do you propose your carrier is defined as different from all the other carriers?

They already have the logic to highlight it. It's already defined as different.
 
This has been suggested since FCs entered the game. Sadly, not even a comment from FDev on the matter, even when they overhauled the system map for Odyssey 🤷‍♂️

A number of filters with boxes to tick for FCs would be very welcome:
Show own FC
Show Squadron FC
Show Friend's FC
Show all FC
 
By a simple colour change. Same difference as showing mission signal sources as blue. What the OP is suggesting would involve more than a change to the code of the text colour.
Unless you know what that code is, anything you can say about the code is speculation.

"This wouldn't work because of the way things are" has never been a good argument to shut down a suggestion to change the way things are anyway.
Like, what? "It wouldn't work because of the code"? Change the damn code then. Isn't that what the suggestions subforum is about?

Hey! I only play this game, I do not care about how it's done! This is my feedback to the developers. I do not have to rewrite their game for them...

No but I’m sure if it was such a “simple” thing to do, as the OP suggested, it would have been implemented already! Which leads me to believe that it’s more complicated than was suggested.

well, there's an entire bucket list of things that are/should be easy to implement, but for one reason or another FDev has decided not to. Like enabling key bindings to toggle on/off autodock or super cruise assist 🤷‍♂️ They say the ways of the Lord are mysterious, but those of FDev are a bloody enigma
 
Non, mais je suis sûr que si c’était une chose aussi « simple » à faire, comme le suggérait le PO, cela aurait déjà été mis en œuvre!
Certaines choses sur Elite seraient simples à faire et changeraient beaucoup de choses, mais malheureusement, elles ne l’ont pas fait, donc ce que vous dites n’est pas tout à fait vrai.

Certainly not! (even if I work there ;) )
But I think for people who are able to code the beautiful game that is Elite, adding a filter for a fleet carrier should not be very complicated.

Wouldn’t it be to add one more extra key binding to target your carrier easier than messing up with filters? Similar to select next system on route.
