Allow station cargo storage.

Why would the faction you bribed to get the architect job let you get away with that?

Not like they imply that you have some sort of ownership from the beginning or anything.

My manager refers to the company van I drive as my van. Doesn’t mean I have any ownership over it.

Yeah but the promotional page states 29 times "your colony, your station, your home, your system" These are words directly written by Fdev. Not random assumptions made up by forum users just because there are missing features.

Unless Fdev states otherwise. These are OUR colonies.

It’s clearly owned by the faction. Maybe you should take them to court for false advertising.

Well if in the future if FDev give you ownership, then you’ll have a point. Until then it’s just some random assumptions made up by forum user. 🤷‍♂️
By this logic you do not own your home because the home owners association exists. Your name is on the deed to the house 29 times, but the HOA is listed as neighborhood management.

I don’t, the bank does until the mortgage is paid. - that’s why they can take it off us!

And to bring it back to the game, you pay for the claim and that’s it. You don’t own the facilities you build and if you don’t complete the first station you lose you claim.

I've played a good number of MMOs and this is the only one without a chest/bank option. We can after all store 600 modules, so instead of limiting the storage to modules. I expect it would not be that hard to store 600 units, be they modules or cigars. This would definitely be helpful accumulating mats for Engineering/Access missions.

The engineering mats have their own magic storage.

As for commodities to unlock engineers, the only issue is the rares. And you can’t buy any more once you have the max limit in your hold, the OP suggestion would have no effect on.

A better, and far easier to implement, way to deal with unlocking engineers is to reduce the quantities of rares to remove the unnecessary tedium of running back and forth shifting tiny quantities.

I've never been one to look at something and think "that's - but its fine". I prefer things to improve.

I said I find it odd, not that I find it a problem. So, yeah, it’s fine.

It would be marginally more convenient if I could store a ship with its limpets, but not being able to transfer that ship to where I’m next am would be far more of bothersome than remembering to sell those limpets before changing ships.

Swapping ships without taking its cargo with you, I think would be a help. I have a MK V, Miner and will soon have a MK V, for Signal Farming that will basically have a combat build. No reason that mining cargo should follow me when I hope ships.

For me personally, the most convenient cargo storage would be ability to store non-empty Cargo Rack at station. For the sake of balance or like that it could be non-transferrable, expensive to store (based on i.e. Rack class), etc. But overall such self-storage Service would completely cover my current needs to store something like couple of TDC for future ships when we do not know yet size of FSD needed.

But why are you keeping the cargo? Why not sell it?

The only time I’ve seen it’s been useful holding on to cargo is when multiple fleet carriers are selling to a station and overwhelm the demand. But usually the difference in price is negligible.

There’s an adage in the antique industry, the first profit is the best profit.

I’m more inclined towards limited warehousing for rent at stations than storing ships full of commodities.

You could also find someone to repeatedly get them for you and fill your requirement. Have done this for randos who asked on GA discord. Or buy them from a carrier, you can sell rares now. 🤷‍♂️
