Allow T7 to land on Medium pads

but not enter the hanger as it is too tall; which means no outfitting and perhaps some other tasks - for example, making repairs > 50% requiring the hanger access

just a thought as it would open up more missions to the T7

As many have pointed out below, I did mean the T7 but do not seem to be able to edit the thread title :(

How would they turn the ship around if it's too big to half-go into the hangar and rotate us around, after all that's a completely mandatory and necessary thing to do on planetary stations and outposts where there isn't a mailslot to point us at

and so is rotating the empty pad back around after the ship takes off

Why not the Cutter, Beliga, Corvette, etc?

Pretty sure FD didn't give outposts large pads for a reason.

Anyway, would the type 9 even fit on a medium pad?

How would the pad rotate for launch?

What is it with people wanting large ships fitting on medium pad?

T-7 has length 82 m, Python has 88
T-7 has width 56, Python has 58

Why, you will ask, why T-7 is Large and Python is medium?
Becase of heigh.
Python's height is 18 m, and T-7's one is 25.
While most high medium ship in game is FAS with 23 meters.

You know this irony.
The medium langing box has its ceiling of 24 meters... No way T-7 can fit in it... Why, Lacon, WHY?!

Yeah, the Type 7 was put in the game when there were hardly any big ships and credits were much harder to come by, so it was a good stepping stone to the Python, T9 or Anaconda, since it was a LOT cheaper than any of those. It's lost a bit of its reason to exist.

If the pistons on the landing gear would retract after it touches down, it would fit in a medium pad. They probably could do something like that, but I'm sure they would have by now if they were gonna. 😕

I think they meant T9 - lots of people who want to be able to do anything with any ship. If they return they can tell us, though why anyone would want to spend any more time in a T7 or T9 is beyond me :)

Actually, I can imagine the T-9 landing on a med-pad. when it wants to leave, the pad drops to rotate and the T-9 is left on high, balanced, supported on either side by its extra width, teetering like the the bus at the end of the Italian Job ... if the cargo load is not balanced then it tips and ends up with a large repair bill

T-9 on med-pad, huh?

Sigh, I DID mean the T7.

The T7 will be able to go down and rotate as it has a smaller footprint that the Python [as someone pointed out] but cannot enter the Hanger as it is too tall

don't seem to be able to edit the thread title for some rreason, is there a moderator who can do it for me?
I had this idea first, but I'll allow you to be my chaff for all the naysayers, LOL.
