When we are on the ground , you can go to the ships 'beam in' point , 'manage inventory' and change inventory items around and then board the ship.
This is useful as if we take too many items on the ground , you can gain over 1000 items , you can then switch out what you want to keep from our backpack into storage..so when you leave using the 'emergency' option , only what we don't mind losing goes.
However..
I don't know what happened , it was soon after the server blip today , I tried to enter my ship inside the station , I was told....items in your backpack will be lost....
I look in the backpack contents , I have 90+ items in there that were not there yesterday...perhaps items I'd lost in previous crashes , perhaps items from my main storage on the ship.
ONLY trouble was...there was NO way for me to see what was what, what sections of the storage were over-full...AND no way for me to transfer the items into my storage, the only option was an emergency entry with losing backpack contents.
The main issue was, 3 of the items were power regulators gained from mission running...
So I had to sell items or trade with the bartender from each of the 3 sections that I thought might have too much of by guessing.
IF we had a way to do similar swaps as we can on the ground , this would be a non-issue , I could have seen what was full and switched stuff around instead of losing enigneering mats.
