I have a Vive HMD but since I don't have a HOTAS, I don't use it with Elite Dangerous. However, the launcher keeps launching SteamVR along with the client. When it does so, you can't close SteamVR without it also closing the client. So SteamVR has to remain running. This causes a problem as the default setting for SteamVR is 1 hour before it turns off if not used. As above, when it closes, it takes the client with it, dumping you out of the game, usually at the worst possible time.
Although you can disable the game within SteamVR to prevent the game launching it. That's fine until you have to search through the settings if you later want to use VR with the game.
It would be nice to have an override toggle on the launcher so we can turn VR accessibility on or off regardless of SteamVR settings. We can see at a glance on the launcher page whether VR is enabled or not and don't have to go digging through SteamVR options to enable it or disable it.
