Almagest and Sirius Reach station missing - mystery investigation

(This could be a game glitch, but we treated it as though it were intentional and part of the game play)

The other day I sent my wife out to Sothis to do a run on her Asp. I told her about Almagest and said she could go there if she had any issues. She told me that the system I told her about didn't exist and there was no station in the system that popped up when she searched for "Almagest" in her galaxy map. I told her it had to be there, I have a ship stored at that station.

When I logged on to my galaxy map, I verified her findings and we decided to take our ships there to investigate.

The Almagest system has been renamed to WREDGUIA XD-K D8-78 And the station that was there "Sirius Reach" is missing. We did a comprehensive search of the system, looking for any sign of the Station that should have been located about 615 ls away from the star. We landed on the only land-able planet WREDGUIA XD-K D8-78 8 A , and also searched for any signs or possible explanations.

We did find some debris fields, some canisters and even some occupied escape pods. We delivered what we found to the sothis system. However nothing definitive to say what has happened to the station was found or any clue to my missing ship. There were rescue ships actively working the area.

I am posting images of what we found and any help or explanation would be appreciated.

When searching for answers outside the game, I found a few forum posts about it, but no answers as to whether it was intentional for the system to be renamed, and the station to be removed. So, not being happy with the answers we found on the forums we wrote this up as a missing system/station - and in the fair chance that frontier has something active planned, I wanted to be able to play my part, rather than come across asking why the game is buggered up and where's my ship. I'm kind of hoping that there's a mystery to be solved .

Sorry, but it is not intentional. It is a bug that affects some people, some of the time. Right now, I can see Almagest sitting there on my starmap, and the Almagest system map loads just fine for me, with Sirius Reach and the Sidebookmarkwinder I bought there both clearly visible. Searching the map for the "WREDGUIA XD-K D8-78" system comes up nothing. I'll be popping over there sometime in the next week or so to sell my Sidebookmarkwinder, now that proper bookmarks have been implemented. I'll let you know if I have any issues actually travelling there.

WREDGUIA XD-K D8-78 was, as I said in an earlier thread on the subject, the old procedurally-generated name for Almagest, and one of the systems which were selected for editing following the Sirius Corp colonization CG over a year ago. Procedurally-generated systems cannot actually be edited or deleted, they have to be replaced manually with a new hand-crafted system with exactly the same planets, in exactly the same orbits as the old proc-genned one, and the new assets (eg Sirius Reach) added. The new system has to perfectly overlap the old one on the galactic map, otherwise the old one "shows through". I suspect the new co-ordinates for Almagest don't quite exactly match the old co-ordinates for WREDGUIA XD-K D8-78, so the old system "shows through" for some people.

I don't really know what to suggest. You can try playing the game on a different computer. Try switching modes (I'm playing in Solo). Maybe even try changing the graphics settings or altering your monitor resolution.

Oooh, an idea I just thought of. Try going to the galactic map, and putting it in a display mode where the star colour changes whether the system is "inhabited" or not. Allegiance, Economy, Government, any of those should do. Now, uncheck the box marked "none". All of the uninhabited stars should now disappear from the starmap, leaving only the inhabited ones. This should "force" Almagest to appear, since Almagest is inhabited.

I had a ship based at Sirius Reach so lost her due to this Bug, but a quick bug report and when advised to contact Customer Service, they very quickly moved my stranded ship to my home port.

Known Bug!

OP - Speaking on behalf of Rapid Recovery Solutions, we hereby inform you that the Sirius Reach station was seized from the owning faction for lack of payment on the outstanding loan balance.

An ad was posted publicly in the Sirius Reach station newspapers and all ships were ejected into space per standard asset seizure procedure. We suggest checking USS in the area to locate your vessel.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

Here's the problem - when traveling to the system, the station isn't located there. It's not on the system map. I traveled between the two planets at 615 ls and couldn't find it either.

Did all that during my initial visit to the system - still nothing.
