Almost ended up behind an old bookshelf!

Hi everyone!

I've been playing Elite since late last year - it was the first game I bought when I got my Xbox One, and have been loving it. I've been reading the forums for a while and all of the info here has been great in making the game that much greater. Anyway, I'm currently on the return leg of my trip to Sag A* (with a stop at the Great Annihilator), spending a bit of time in the neutron star fields to make a little more money (which I initially overshot by about 2K Ly...). So far, so good, but for one jump to a black hole system, I forgot to throttle down during the countdown and wasn't paying attention...

And here's one taken from the external camera without the ship:

I didn't dare get any closer and risk months of exploration data, but how close has anyone gotten to a black hole? I didn't take any damage or even get over 100% heat gingerly supercruising away, but it was a scary moment when it happened!

You'll stop about 20km short of the event horizon. No danger. Kinda like a planet with an atmosphere, you just hit a wall.

...but soon that will change. Mwuhahahaaaa. I can read palms as well. Only 100 bucks a session.

I kinda hope it does, I was a little disappointed.
My grams taught me a couple things, one was how to make some killer chocolate chip cookies. The other was to never mess with any voodoo hoodoo.

Ahh ok... Wish I'd known this at Sag A*... Would've gotten up close and personal with the supermassive black hole!!

Also, why didn't my photos load? I thought I followed the guides... Copied the photo URLs from xboxdvr and it looked fine in the post preview

When copying link, make sure to delete everything after the ".png"

For example:

Then (as I guess you already know), hard bracket it with img and /img. Each in between [ and ]

Then it should work fine.

Thanks for the tip! I'll give it a shot next time. Now, tryin' to make my way back home...navigating another neutron field 3 whiskeys in.... If I don't make it, tell my wife I said "hello"
