Hi, I am reposting Luniticisi's thread from the Private Backer's forum here, as there seems to be a lot more activity here and I'm not sure new backers are aware of the PBF. The original thread is here if you have PBF access. Mods, please could Luniticisi's thread be moved from the PBF to here, or merged with this one?

To all that have the ability to put videos on YouTube, I lay a gauntlet, a challenge, if you will.

After watching the Twitch stream and seeing Adam Woods (Producer E: D) getting in a time of around 2 mins on "WOLF PACK TACTICS" I thought a little game was a foot (I get confused easily)

The Game:

Play Elite: Dangerous, Single player missions .. Follow the Rules of engagement...

The Rules:

Simply Record your antic's and post them on YouTube - call it something like "[insert challenge name] Challenge" and then post the link on this thread.

Make sure you have recorded enough to prove your time, in fact it should be recorded from loading screen to completion ... that should cut out the chaff ... Remember Quickest time wins and only your best time counts for the leader-board.

Please state the challenge name in your post ... easier for me to keep track

Leader-Board for Challenges: (All Names are links to the challenges on YouTube and checked by me)

Cargo Killer : "WASTE DISPOSAL" - Destroy all canisters, By any means necessary!

1. Luniticisi (Alphabetical reasons ) = 0:42
2. MrShadowfax = 0:42
3.

Defenseless Foe : "FIRST KILL" - Kill that Sidewinder !

1. MrShadowfax = 0:26
2. Luniticisi = 0:59
3.

Sidewinder Killer : "SIDEWINDER FACE OFF" - Kill this guy harder !
1. Frame = 0:26
2. TheGoatee =0:31
3. MrShadowfax = 0:42

Fighter Hunter : "RECON WING" - Kill all fighters quickly ... simple as pea's !

1. TheGoatee = 1:16
2. MrShadowfax = 1:23
3. Zieman = 1:36

Cobra Killer : "WOLF PACK TACTICS" - Kill that Cobra !

1. MrShadowfax = 0:30
2. Logan Terrik = 1:00
3. Luniticisi = 1:13

Stone Cold Killer : "PREDATOR AND PREY" - Kill all ships, Including the Cobra ! - Remember to kill the Cobra before you finish off the fighters.

Death wish - "SUPPLY STRIKE" - Kill all ships - remember to kill all fighters before destroying the Anaconda.

Note all of the leaderboard entries on the OP have links included to the supporting youtube vids but that doesn't copy and paste, unfortunately. Feel free to contribute your times on this thread until perhaps they can be merged.

Hope you don't mind, Luniticisi, we need more competitors!

I'd love to have a crack, but cannot shake just over 60 Seconds my self. In the current alpha 3.4 version, the quantity of bullets to take out one cannister is different to the tune of about 27 and so need to reload after the 4th or 4th cannister (adding seconds)) or so vs the 8 or so used (and no reloading) measured Luniticisi's YT vid in that build.

I'll try the other scenarios see what they're like. Unless you'd like to strictly keep this to the Alpha 1.0?

I'd need to ask Luniticisi first. Their post fits where they posted it so I shall ask them and refer them to this thread, if they agree we can merge.

I don't know how you are timing these videos. But if it's timed from the moment the mission begins 0:46 until I make the kill 1:20, then my kill is 0:34

Also, sorry about all the messing about with the menus at the start of the video - it was my first time using Shadowplay and I didn't realise it was recording already!! :D :eek:

Good to see community driven events like this.

Shame FD don't authorise someone from the DDF to organise regular 'offical' events like this and provide a prize to the winner. In the final game, I'm guessing the DDF will be involved in similar in-game events, so theres no reason they cannot 'test' this process in the beta phase.

At least it will provide another purpose for the PBF apart from the peek-of-the-week.

Perhaps a customised? t-shirt or mug as the prize.

I had the same problem, I ended up using microsoft movie maker (its free) to clip the video at the begining and at end. My upload speed is so slow I would never get it onto youtube otherwise.

I hadn't considered Movie Maker. Next time I will chop the rubbish of the video. :D

Here's the Fighter Hunter : "RECON WING" played on the Oculus Rift.

Mission starts at 0:07 and final kill is made at 1:30. Kill time is 1:23 - not my best time, but it was ok for a run made on a whim.

This is Luniticisi's competition so he will need to be able to edit the thread... so perhaps his thread from the Private Backer's Forum could be moved to the General forum, and then this thread merged into the thread that was moved?

I think if my thread is merged with this one I should still be able to edit the leaderboard ... i think :S
