I voted no, as I see no real point in it - and I'm a standard Beta.

Yep. Also don't think releasing the buggy Alpha as a demo would help sales.

Didn't vote since there wasn't a "Don't Care" option. If I wanted to play early I'd have paid for it. I'm really glad I'm not wrestling bugs and fighting in that hothouse of 5 systems with 10000 backers.

Here is what the devs have to ask themselves, do we want money now, or later? Since there is absolutely no benefit in buying the standard beta no since there is nothing you can do. But if you include something, it will mean a lot more people buying now at 50 pounds, including myself. If money is not an issue, then i suggest keeping things as they are.

Later, Frontier could give the alpha1 to backers who have engaged to the retail version. To encourage them to go toward the standard beta

I voted yes, it is a good idea. People who have already bought into the Beta - it is a nice reward to get them warmed up (I am a premium beta). The annoying thing is the inability to use multiple controls but I worked around it.

I would therefore also like 33% off insurance costs too please.

Since the alpha race get 50% off as to sweeten the deal when they gave Alpha 1 to Premium Beta (which upset a fair few of the Alpha people).:D

As an alpha backer, I wouldnt mind seeing the SP combat scenario's opened up as a demo. I think it would give ED a lot of popularity.

Alpha 1 as a release for anyone NOW, or in the future is a terrible idea. It's a buggy piece of software. It'll just generate thousands of new threads about poor graphics card support, poor SLI/crossfire support, poor joystick & multiple controller support.

It'l also flood Frontier with thousands of support tickets for issues that have been resolved for months. Someone has to open each ticket, read it, close as "Already fixed in Beta". That someone (or someones) is either a $$$ drain on Frontier or not doing useful stuff.

A release of Premium Beta 2 with just the single player combat scenarios enabled however may be justified as the release has been delayed, quite significantly, from the initial kickstarter dates. But that is up to Frontier to ponder.

But Alpha 1 ... no.

Has anyone confirmed yet whether the single player combat scenarios will be included in the standard beta build? I don't mind _when_ us standard beta backers get access to any builds (I still don't have the hardware necessary to play the game), but I would like a confirmation of whether or not we will eventually get the chance to play the single player combat scenarios.
