Michael has just stated that the next Alpha update. i.e 3.0 will be docking and outfitting.

Alpha 3.0 isn't trading, it's docking and outfitting.

No no...you can't have it both ways!

wow..you guys are optimistic....hmm, well I wouldn't expect any of the cockpits they have to be anywhere near as complete as the Sidewinder which they are clearly using as the stock test ship to iron out all the bugs. I can't imagine they have anything else to show in-game that is ready to be released to the public yet. Building cockpits into the game is probably less risky once you know that the interface and controls work.
