Alpha Centauri Mission... Impossible?

Hey everyone!

Today I got a little adventurous and headed out to Alpha Centauri, from my home in the Tau Ceti region, upon looking around I found a mission in Barnards Star. A bit of chump change for a courier mission... Sounds easy enough! 1 hour time limit? Sure no problem... or so I thought. So I warp (is that the correct term?) Back into Alpha Centauri from Barnards Star and start heading to my destination, Huttons Gateway. Little did I realize at first that this station was orbiting Proxima Centauri, which is located 0.22ly from Alpha Centauri. The journey would have taken me a little under 2 hours to complete... Atleast in my tiny, not outfitted eagle.

So, in case I run into a similar situation or someone else gets this mission off the boards in Barnards Star. How might one go about doing this mission? Can you jump directly to Proxima? Or do you just have to leg it with tons of fuel and a fast ship?

There are a few timetraps like these out there, where the secondary or even tertiary star has the orbitals. What's the ratio, 1AU=500Ls? I think that's it and I'll get fixed if not so still win advice ;) . You can check on the system maps for this kind of pleasant evening of cruising beforehand. Intersystem star jumping should probably be a thing; though I commend pilots who make the Hutton as is. o7

1 Astronomical Unit (AU) is the average distance between our Sun and Earth, and light from good old Sun takes approximately 8 minutes to reach Earth; so 500 Ls is indeed a good approximation.

I'm FINALLY nearing the end of my trip to Proxima - I'm around 1.5 hours into the flight so far. It looked to be the closest place to pick up some palladium for a well-paying contract, and man, the joke's on me! Luckily I still have 6 hours left to finish the job, and have more than enough fuel to get there. There better be some damn palladium to buy...
